First, I want to mention that we truly thought that the food was absolutely excellent. We ordered two main dishes, momos and wine, and enjoyed them very much - BUT:
Here are reasons for the 3 stars. This is our personal opinion:
We reserved a table. I called to confirm the reservation. When we arrived, they did not find the reservation and placed us at the only unreserved table. Luckily, we came early enough that they still had one free.
We arrived at 18:00 (we had tickets for a show at 20:15 nearby and didn't want to be late). We thought an early dinner would allow us enough time. There was only one waitress there, but since there was only one other full table, I can't explain why we were ignored for more than 20 minutes when we wanted to order: the waitress only came to us once I was able to finally get her attention (this is not a big place, so lines of sight should not be an issue).
After we ordered, many people started to show up. Numerous tables got their dishes before us.
Many Wolt orders came in after we came. It was our impression that those orders were the priority. This is understandable, since Wolt guarentees a relatively prompts delivery, but the patrons at the restaurant should also be a priority. Maybe they need another cook...
All in all, we waited over an hour after arrival until the Vorspeisen came. By the way, we ended up being late to our next plans dispite planning ahead and having a decent buffer for unexpected issues.
After we got our food, no one came to check if we wanted anything else, or if the food was good. This is not a must, of course, but many restaurants make more alcohol sales (and the staff make better tips!) if they do this - so we thought it might be good to mention this point as well, in case the owners ever read this review.
This is really too bad: as I'd mentioned in the beginning, the food was really good, but it is our opinion that this place needs to improve their service if they want more customers to come back (and not just...
Read moreIf I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Mitho - Cha Pberg is truly a hidden gem that brings the authentic Nepali experience right into the heart of the city.
📍 Location: Getting there is incredibly easy – just hop on the M2 or M10 tram, and you’re only a short walk away. Perfectly accessible, even if you’re exploring the area for the first time.
🍴 Food & Taste: The food here is an absolute 10/10. What makes it stand out is how well-balanced the flavors are – subtle on spices, which keeps the dishes light, healthy, and true to their Himalayan roots. The Thali is an absolute must-try, a wholesome spread that gives you a little taste of everything. And of course, the momos are not to be missed – soft, flavorful, and easily some of the best I’ve had in Berlin.
A fun little tradition they have: if you finish your thali using your hands instead of cutlery (the traditional way), they reward you with a complimentary chai. It’s such a warm and thoughtful touch that really highlights the spirit of the place.
🏡 Ambience: The space is surprisingly spacious and well thought-out. They even have traditional Nepali floor seating arrangements, which makes the whole experience immersive and authentic. Sitting there, I honestly felt transported to a cozy Himalayan hut for the evening – it’s rare to find that kind of atmosphere in the city.
🙌 Service: The service deserves a special mention. The staff is extremely welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure guests have a great time. Their hospitality adds so much to the overall charm of the restaurant.
✅ Verdict: Mitho - Cha Pberg is more than just a restaurant – it’s an experience. Whether you’re new to Nepali cuisine or already love it, this place will leave you impressed. Delicious food, warm service, authentic atmosphere – it’s a perfect 10/10 for me....
Read moreReally wanted to like this place as it has great reviews and the photos looked good. However, there were so many mistakes with our order that evening... After ordering, we were given our drinks but one of the drinks was wrong (no big deal, it happens). Moments later, we got the correct drink. After about 20 mins, the waitress came out and said they don’t have one of the dishes and we needed to choose another (why did it take them that long to find out?!?!). About 15 minutes later, another waitress came out and asked again to ask us what m the replacement dish we wanted since the other was sold out?? This was getting out of hand.... Then about 15 minutes later, our food came out and one of the dishes was incorrect - the waitress took it back and a few minutes later the correct one was bought out. The food was OK - not the best I had but wasn’t bad. After the meal, we asked for the bill and guess what?? Another mistake - she charged us for the original dish (which was sold out). I understand mistakes are made - especially when it’s busy and can totally understand. However, there was no apology or any remorse from any of the waitresses which I found astonishing. Glad I got to try it but unlikely again...
edit - no idea on the owners comment that we changed tables 3 times as the restaurant was full??? We moved inside once (before the food came) after waiting for a really long time. By then the sun was going down and it was getting cold! Nevertheless, how does moving change the outcome of getting the order, drinks and...
