I ordered a double cheeseburger and a side of fries from the self-serve kiosk and ate outside on one of the tables.
The smashburger itself was solid – better than the nearby Five Guys equivalent burger, for comparison. I ordered the double because it's a smash burger and I knew a single patty wouldn't be much meat, plus two smash patties = double the Maillard reaction (AKA: crispy goodness) and a second slice of American cheese. Speaking of ingredients, they were objectively correct – fuck asking me what I want on my burger, just serve it to me the right way. This was that. And the bun was good too.
Some other reviews came off as kind of weird to me. Maybe your experience was different than mine, but no it's not an over-cooked (beef) patty, it's got a perfect crust on the outside and the patty's still juicy inside – it's too thin to be cooked to medium-rare or something like that. Also, the interior atmosphere was totally fine? There's actual individual+group seating and some stand-up spots as well. I ate outside because it was a nice summer day. Maybe other people's reviews were from when the place just opening and was still in soft-launch mode.
If anything was overrated, it was the fries. They're obviously inspired my McDonalds super-thin fries, though w/ a deeper fry that makes them more crispy...they were good, not great, and I think McDonalds is still better when it comes to a regular-ass super-thin fry. Well-seasoned though. Huge portion size as others have mentioned.
Staff was friendly – no hassle or wait when I came back in and asked to get my leftover fries packaged for take-away.
Next time I have a burger craving and I'm in the neighbourhood, I'll probably go back here. It's probably the best burger I've had in the area and definitely the best smashed burger I've had in town so far. I'll either skip or explore a different side next...
Read moreEDIT: THIS RESTAURANT'S RATING IS INFLATED. I personally saw their rating DROP TO 4.4 before they removed negative reviews, including mine, through what seems like aggressive legal tactics. My review was hidden twice under defamation claims, but I successfully defended it both times because it’s based on my honest experience; not defamation.
The burger I had was greasy, overly salty, and the cheese was awful. It lacked any freshness or balance, which was extremely disappointing for a place with such a high rating. IT IS MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH, my human right, to say that.
It’s concerning that honest reviews seem to be disappearing. If a restaurant can’t handle genuine feedback, it makes me seriously question the credibility of their business practices. Customers deserve transparency, NOT A MANIPULATED RATING!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: It was too salty, and the cheese needs to change because it gives very oily feeling and not tasty. The cheeseburger screams for a slice of tomato. I have not...
Read moreToday, my friend and I had a very bad experience at this place. My friend ordered a gluten-free drink, but when we went to pick up the order, we were told they didn’t have it at all. My friend had already left a tip beforehand, and when we politely explained the situation, the staff didn’t even bother to apologize.
What was even worse – one of the employees verbally insulted my friend, which was absolutely shocking and unacceptable. On top of that, there was clearly racist behavior involved, which made the whole situation even more disturbing.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. We were extremely disappointed, and I’d advise you to be cautious so that you don’t go through the...
