I know it's a little bit pricey for Berlin because it seems like a lot of foods here are cheaper than another big cities in Europe.
But if you've been to another hot pot restaurant somewhere else or in other cities, This is normal price for them.
We mostly paid around 120 for 2 for our favorite one in Brussels and also the same in Barcelona. (And we were SUPER full)
We paid 104 euro here(but we could eat more but didn't order) we were really careful with what we ordered because I know it could get expensive if you order way too much.
But yes I also think it's still a bit pricey for Berlin because in another nice restaurant you pay like 25-30 euro each. and also for the quality of the food I'm not sure if it worth the money
The restaurant itself is beautiful. I feel like the meat could be better. The staff was slow and we got our order wrong. We ordered 2 pork belly and we got one and it took soooo long until we got our second plate.
Also I ordered second drink because yes it was spicy and it took them more than 10 minutes until the drink came and we also already finished our food.
The sauce bar is not a lot of options. It was really limited options in my opinion. And it's complicated to make the one from their recipe so I just did what I always do at another hot...
Read moreReserving a table is only done online. Calling is not an option. The place is normally full in the evening (from 5pm onwards) so it might be difficult to get a table except perhaps on weekdays. So try reserving a few days before, or at lunchtime, if you plan it on weekends.
A barcode is scanned on each table (can be done by only one person from the group or otherwise). Just click the food and drinks you want, click send it to the kitchen, and chitchat while waiting (which didn’t take long as the place was not full). Also fetch your sauces or the starter.
Out staff was very kind enough to assist us when we told her it was our first time at Hou Tang. She also gave us a typical dip mixture for free.
We really had fun. We didn’t order much for 3 people so we still have a lot to try. More reason to definitely go back! But still, we were very full after. I loved the noodles! Broths were also seasoned enough without being overpowering. We chose the Yin Yang style or 2-in-1 Pot. The sauces you make or choose will definitely enhance the taste. My companions don’t like spicy food, so I just made my dip spicy for me.
Overall excellent experience and...

The lousiest is the service. We had booked a table for 11 people. 15 minutes after we had arrived, on time, they still hadn’t cleared it, finally gave us a small room with a table for max eight people capacity, where they tried to squeeze in three additional chairs. After given up, they had to seat us on two distantly separated tables.
While the order is high tech digital, the execution is haphazard, and takes very long. Since the order is digital, no waiter ever checks in on you, so dirty dishes stack up and are never removed, even after you pay the bill.
Finally when we had already left the restaurant our waiter ran after us because they had charged us for the wrong table! We had to pay more, of course.
The ingredients for the hot pot were OK but the broth didn’t appear particularly fresh. Particularly the spicy broth was incredibly fatty, had two butter size blocks of solid fat and when it cooled down, it was...
