Geh nicht hier hin. Bestimmte Mitarbeiter scheinen rassistisch zu sein und sind in der Tat unhöflich. Marlene oder Marlena sagten meinem Freund, der nicht weiß ist, dass sie ausgebucht sind und er nicht bleiben konnte. Es wurden jedoch nur drei Tische genommen. Nachdem ich das gehört hatte, ging ich hinein und sie zeigten mir die Speisekarte und waren glücklich, mich zu setzen. Nachdem ich zurückgekommen war, fragte ich den Namen der Frau, die meine Freundin so behandelte und Sandra war unhöflich und genervt von meiner Anwesenheit. Ich musste hartnäckig sein, um Informationen von ihr zu bekommen. Ehrlich gesagt, scheint die Atmosphäre verklemmt, unfreundlich und anmaßend zu sein. Sie sind oben auf einem Regierungsgebäude, nicht auf der Park Avenue in New York City. Sie sollten eine breite Palette von Kunden bedienen. Die Erfahrung mit ihnen ruinierte die gesamte Erfahrung bis zum Reichstag.

Don’t go here. Certain staff appear to be racist and are in fact rude. Marlene or Marlena told my friend who is not white that they are fully booked and he could not stay. Only three tables were taken though. After hearing this, I went in and they showed me the menu and were happy to seat me. After coming back, I requested the name of the woman who treated my friend this way and Sandra was rude and annoyed by my presence. I had to be persistent in order to get information from her. Honestly, the atmosphere seems to be uptight, unwelcoming, and pretentious. You’re on top of a government building not on Park Avenue in New York City. You should be catering to a wide range of clientele. The experience with them ruined the entire experience to the Reichstag.

Je devais être persistant pour obtenir des informations d'elle. Honnêtement, l'atmosphère semble être tendue, peu accueillante et prétentieuse. Vous êtes au sommet d'un immeuble du gouvernement pas sur Park Avenue à New York. Vous devriez répondre à un large éventail de clients. L'expérience avec eux a ruiné toute l'expérience au Reichstag.

For our 10 years anniversary my husband and I wanted to do something special so, we decided to have a date at this restaurant. As we live in Berlin, we already know the Reichstag so we didn't want to do a tour around the roof, just wanted to go straight to the restaurant. Yet, when we arrived we still had to queue in with other tourists for half an hour, no option to skip the line. This was not informed by the restaurant eventhough they sent several emails to confirm and to remind us about the reservation. -1 point for poor communication. Fortunately we came early so still managed to be on time. After waiting another 10 mins by the entrance we were seated, this is when the disappointment really started. The staffs were not that friendly which made us frown a bit but we let it slide. We first ordered the breakfast and planned to stay for lunch as well. However, for 35eur per person, their food were neither tasty nor well presented. My set has a fruit salad with granola. On their menu, it did NOT indicate what kind of ingredients would be used. I'm allergic to walnut and on my first bite I found walnut inside. We politely asked them to make a new portion without the walnut. They brought out a new fruit salad with no granola at all 🤣 there were hazelnut, almond and oatmeal in their granola too. I said I'm only allergic to walnut, so pls don't add walnut. But instead of using the rest of granola ingredients, better use nothing and make the salad bowl plain boring and sour. -1 point for taking care of customer's allergies. My husband's set is no better. There is a portion of scrambled egg but it was definitely not fresh cooked since it's wet with water like it was reheated in a microwave. As someone who has experience in F&B, I'm quite sure it came out from a bulk package of pre-cooked egg. The bread, although they claimed to make themselves, was quite stale. The yoghurt was at room temperature instead of being cold. The fruity drink was bland (not sure what's inside). Cheese and coldcut assortment was cheap. After an hour we paid the bill and still felt like we hadn't eaten any thing. Overall, from the food to the service, they are nowhere living up to fine dining standard. I was stupid enough to ignore all the warnings of other guests who rated this place 1 star. I thought maybe those guests were just unlucky and came on a bad day. But now I can confirm, this place other than the location, really has nothing to offer. We changed our plan after the disaster breakfast and went to another fine dining restaurant to save our date. But this place, never will we come back again. P.S: before writing this review I went through several responses of the restaurant to other low star rated reviews. It's really funny to see how they blame the customers for their failure rather than taking the complaints as honest feedbacks to improve their quality. I'm pretty sure my review will get the similar react from them. But you know what Käfer, it's 2025, the world is transparent and you can't hide your mistake just by giving some flabby excuses. If you're not a fine dining restaurant I actually could tolerate your poor service and bad food because you would blend in very well with the average Berlin restaurants scenery. But you're located right at the Reichstag, the representing face of Germany and with the name of a well-established chain, don't put a bad...

We kicked off the day with an unforgettable experience at the Käfer Roof Garden Restaurant 🍽️, located on top of the historic Reichstag building. This place is something special, offering not just a meal but a complete experience. Fun fact: it’s the only legislative building in the world with a public restaurant! Modern German 🇩🇪 cuisine made from fresh, regional products is their signature and they delivered on every promise. 🌟

Before I dive into the meal, I’ll say that getting there was a bit of an adventure🚦. Due to construction 🚧 in the area and where our taxi 🚕 dropped us off, we had to walk a bit to find the entrance. With an event happening nearby, certain areas were blocked off, adding to the hassle😒. Once we arrived, we went through a security screening similar to an airport. After the check, we waited in a group until we were escorted into elevators operated by staff. 🏛

One perk of having a reservation here (which is mandatory to dine at the restaurant) is access to the Reichstag’s dome, which is a photo-op lover's dream! 🤳📸 The dome offers incredible panoramic views of Berlin 🔭, especially if you venture up to the upper platform, standing a whopping 40 meters high. Inside the dome, there’s a light deflection cone made up of 360 mirrors that channel daylight into the plenary hall below. It's an engineering marvel and a sight to behold. 📸🏛️😍

Back to the food — service was impeccable from the moment we arrived. The hostess seated us quickly, and our waiter was an absolute gem 🌟. We opted for the most comprehensive breakfast option, aptly named the “Feel Good Breakfast,” and let me tell you, it did not disappoint:

1 glass of prosecco, freshly squeezed orange juice, and coffee or tea 🥂🍊☕ A beautiful assortment of bread rolls, wholegrain bread, pastries, and croissants 🍞🥐 Homemade jams, butter, and a selection of cheeses: tête de moine, camembert, mozzarella with tomato pesto, and wild herb-mountain cheese 🧀🍅 Käfer’s beef ham, paprika turkey, smoked ham from apple-fed pigs, spianata salami, and smoked salmon with a honey-dill sauce 🥩🍖 3 scrambled organic eggs, plain yogurt with fruit sauce, and a seasonal fruit salad 🍳🍓

After finishing our delightful breakfast, we headed out to the terrace to take in the views and snap some photos with the city stretching out behind us. It was a perfect way to start the day, blending history, luxury, and scenic beauty all in one. 🌅📸
