An absolutely fantastic spot — both in terms of atmosphere and food. The space feels stylish, inviting, and full of character. We were three people and sat at the bar, which was a great way to experience the place. I would strongly recommend making a reservation, as it’s the kind of place that fills up quickly.
We ordered several dishes to share: • KYS Oyster – Pomegranate Aguachile: Easily one of the most original oysters I’ve ever had. We loved it so much that we ordered it twice — once at the beginning and once again at the end to finish. Truly outstanding. • House-Cured Sardine – Einkorn Shoyu: A very nice dish with clean flavors. • Triple Cream Brillat-Savarin – Yuzu Jam – Grilled Fig: A lovely combination of a quality cheese with a perfectly grilled fig. Delicious, though not the most original plate. • Endive Salad: A very large portion compared to the fine-dining-sized plates of the other dishes. For three people it was too much when combined with the rest of our order. Worth noting if you plan to order multiple dishes. • Escabeche Mussel Toast: Very impressive — they managed to pile a generous portion of mussels onto a single slice of bread. Flavorful and satisfying. • Bluefin Tuna: Served in five slices with tomato on top. Very tasty and beautifully prepared.
We paired the meal with a bottle of Le XX Vouvray Chenin Blanc. The only downside of the service was that the staff refilled our mineral water without asking, and they opened a new bottle just as we were about to leave. It’s a small detail, but something that should really be confirmed with the guests.
The total was €180, which felt reasonable for the quality and creativity of the meal. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we had in Berlin — highly...
Read moreSafe your money and spend it somewhere else. The service was subpar. We reserved a table a week in advance, once we entered, not only was there no table for us but not even a “reserved” sign was put up. We were told to sit at the bar instead. Our order was made wrong, we were given things we didn’t order and things we ordered did not show up, even though we confirmed with our server at the time of ordering. They were too cool to carry a note pad. The oysters were fine in my opinion but the adding of chilli oil rather than tried and true fermented chili ( such as Tabasco) did not go well with my friend. The aromatic oil overpowers the natural flavor of oysters and is a bit of random choice. The tuna slides were good. But again that speaks for the fish itself, not necessarily for the restaurant’s cooking abilities. The grilled mackerel was simply too salty. The chef might be used to fine granulated salt but the coarser salt quite simply ruined the dish. Again with the aromatic chilly oil, this dish built a similar flavor profile as the oysters again. Random. Things that are good are great ingredients that had some in-house assemblies but the things that are made in house simply took very very long and are either underwhelming or simply not good. They also are out of the mussel toast which boosts so much praise, but the in-house sour dough bread was probably the best thing I had all night. Butter again was salted which in my view was unnecessary. They servers are visually pleasing but not great at their jobs. We had to raise our hands multiple times for empty dishes to be taken off our table. All in all, for the price this place demands, it’s a terrible...
Read moreFrustrating/disappointing but still willing to try again.
I booked a table online and specifically booked their special offer with oaster, in the note I wrote “celebrating my gf birthday and she is a huge fan of oaster” Arrived at the restaurant, the waiter told us they were sold out of oaster. For the price and standing, I would have loved a call to ask if I still wanted to keep my reservation or postpone.
We decided to stay, nice restaurant, nice terrasse and nice weather. We sat, checked the menu, before a waiter came to tell us that half of the menu was sold out. Ugh… Wanted to ask a glass of sparkling wine, sold out. Wanted a glass of non alcoholic. No option… I think in 2025 in Berlin it is not acceptable to not have non alcoholic beverages.
You can imagine the frustration at the point.
BUT the food we had, was really tasty. Good products and very well executed. Also (it makes a huge difference in Berlin) the service was on point, first time I experienced such a good service in berlin, polite, patient, knew what they were talking about, smily… all what we want and need 10/10 for this.
Overall we had a good evening, even if the ratio quantity/price seems a bit little, the quality was there. We were frustrated because the evening started with a lot of downs. Really happy to give an other try and have the...
