The best aspect of Pico Tapas-Bar is the atmosphere in the summer. The seats outside next to a very quiet street provide a rare moment of calm in an otherwise constantly busy part of the city.
The best tapas were the Pimientos de Padron, the Chipirones, the Champiñones and the steak tapas. The Gambas à la Plancha were very tasty, though they had been defrosted for some time, so that the meat was a bit stringy.
The selection and price range of the wine is very good, we had a wine from one of our favorite wineries: Ermelinda Freitas, this time their rosé.
What was not OK in our view, since we've been to Spain and our therefore spoilt for quality. were the rather small portions. If the largest components of cost in a restaurant are the staff and the infrastructure, then just serve the same portions as in Spain please, you would do yourselves a huge service. Hence the three stars for food.
Apropos service, the table service was very friendly. However, we tried to order some desert, and it failed to show up in 40 minutes, so we left without. The waiter explained that there was a confusion about the placement of the order ... hence the three stars...

No payment by card and no wifi. Food arrived after 20 min. 2 dishes per person and dessert was enough. Payed about 20 euros each.
We asked for a good place for tapas and had Picoteo recommended by a Spanish/German girl who had given us a bike tour. When we arrived there (easily reachable by public transport) the place was already almost full and we were happy to be seated inside. The people sitting there obviously lived around the neighbourhood and was a varied and multicultural crowd. They have some nice cocktails on the menu which are not expensive for what you get (I can recommend the 911 cocktail). What sold us on this place was the food. We were with 3 and ordered 2 dishes each to start with. It arrived after 20 minutes and was so good and filling that we did not feel the need to order more but ordered dessert instead. This too was delicious. Besides the cocktail 3 beers and a rum were ordered. The total costs of this meal was about 20 euros each which topped off the evening perfectly, because it could have easily been 10 euros more. If you're looking for a non-touristic spot with good food this...
Read moreAwful place. I don’t even know from where to start. I booked a table in advance for two people, we arrived at the restaurant, 10 minutes before the reservation. I was checking in and asked the waiter kindly to let me know if by any chance our table was already free and he was extremely rude with me and kicked me out from the restaurant. Ultimately I had to wait for my table that was gave to us 10’minutes after our reservation. After sitting, we had to wait 30 minutes for someone that came to take our order. We ordered the drinks, wine and tap water and the waiter declined to serve us tap water and told us that he can serve free water only if we are dying from thirsty (so greedy and bad vibe). After that we had to wait another 40 minutes to be able to order our food. In total we wait 1 and half hour for ordering. The food arrived after 30 minutes (total 2 hours before we could finally eat something). We ordered sea food. The food was awful, frozen fish not fresh at all. This place is a scam with uncomfortable people working there and run by greedy...
