Why is there no option for zero star rating? We are Chinese Australian tourists from Perth and went to this restaurant in Berlin (in the Saturn building as I recall) this afternoon, intending to have some nice German lunch there. It was not full but we had to wait quite a while at our table after seating ourselves at a table. The single visible waiter there totally ignored us until I waved at him and asked him politely whether we could have the menu. He instantly went on a rampage and snapped loudly at me along the lines of “You have to wait OK! You are NOT the only one in this restaurant, there are many people here understand?!!! Everyone wants to be served! Just WAIT OK!!! WAIT!!!” I’ve lost count of how many times he barked the word “WAIT” at me. The scene attracted stares from other customers and it was totally humiliating and embarrassing. Don’t know the name of this waiter but he looks like from Indian descent. Strange that he was serving the rest of the customers all of them Europeans in an almost deferential manner but we were treated like pariahs just because I asked for a menu. Is it unacceptable to ask for a menu in this restaurant? A simple, “Sorry we are quite busy at the moment but I’ll bring you the menu soon” would suffice instead of going on a rampage. Let me do the comments in English. We’ve just left from the restaurant. For starters the food was good. No comments about that but the waiter that served us.......what’s wrong with him???? Doesn’t hè like his job??? Hè was rude, impolite, unkind, throwed the dish on the table (for real), was yelling to us, told us to stay put (like we were one of his dogs). We were thinking we were on candid camera, but hell no this was for real. The guy is a lunatic. IT was the baldheaded guy, about 60-65 years old, 1.70 meters, small posture. If this would have happened in my OWN counrty (Holland) I never ever would have accepted this kind of behaviour. I would have asked for the manager to come and let him talk reason in to the guy. And I would not have paid the bill. IT was really disgusting. And we were not the only people that were complaining about him. There were also a black couple which said hè was discriminating them. They also were disgusted by his misbehaviour....

What an awesome culinary experience this place is! I was in Berlin for 5 days and I was fortunate to discover it on the first day of my trip. And I loved the food so much I went there every evening for my entire trip. Every dish is made to perfection. Beware, their portions are generous and I took leftovers that I had as lunch. Their beer selection is great and although I don't typically drink beer I enjoyed every single beer the staff recommended to me. Be patient though when you order. They take about 30 minutes to bring your order. I found their service attentive but they are short staffed so one needs to be patient The ambience is warm and retro.
