Mr. Box Tea — Restaurant in Berlin

I don’t know where they are from, but I’m glad they opened a store here in Berlin. It’s kind of different from what I’ve experienced here so far - and yes, refreshingly different.

The interior is playful and clean at the same time. I can’t even describe it properly, it’s a balance of a homely, yet modern design and small cute details that contradict the clean shapes and order. It looks very modern.

They have a nice selection of beverages - based on tea, milk and fruit flavors.

The bottles with the Mr. Box shape are really very cute and also utilitarian as you can close them like bottles and carry them around.

The drinks are prepared carefully with differently colored layers. You gotta shake them before drinking (well, at least some of them - I had to shake it).

I’ll return in order to try more flavors. Oh, there’s a Ninja card - 11th...

Tried them once already and was disappointed. Now I gave them another chance and it was just as bad. Had a special with coconut milk but literally zero coco flavour. Cream cheese topping tastes really poorly, stale and runny. They don’t have any of the common plant milk alternatives, no soy milk or almond milk or anything. On top of that they charge you the price of a large drink for the normal size. The staff is friendly and waiting time ok, but the boba tasted so awful I had to throw it away after a few sips. I went there with me and my friend. The service was pretty good but.. the taste was pretty awful. I had the coconut milk tea and it was very sour, had no taste except the taste of heavy cream. I feel nauseous because of drinking it. My friend got the taro milk tea and it simply just tasted like milk & sugar. On top of that the tapioca was either overcooked and mushy or undercooked and hard (tapioca is supposed to be chewy). We threw it out immediately and thought it was kinda sad that we wasted money.
