I used to be a diehard 'Bird' burger fan before that place sold out to new owners and lowered their standards. Then Windburger came along in the middle of my despair.
Walking in is like a school disco of questionable 90s dance music and neon lights. Whatever. I'm a grown up and here for the eats, not RnB.
Each table has ketchup and mayo to hand and a paper hand-towel roll, so I can get to business. Collecting an electronic beeper to collect my food and self service cutlery is a bit of a chore. Pointless technology in a place of this size, but whatever minimises social interaction, I guess.
The fries are good, crispy and with the skin on. When served, let them sit for a second so the oil and heat don't make them soggy. As a puritan, I only ever have 'haus-pommes', none of that 'chili-cheese' liquid that the Germans round here seem to get off on. It's on the menu. Beware. Sauce is on point, no 'curry-ketchup', only ketchup and mayo on hand. Drinks cabinet always well-stocked with soft drinks and cold beers. Augustiner available.
I only order the cheese-burger. Sometimes double cheeseburger, but you'll struggle to hold doubles together. I warned you. Let the burger sit for a minute if you want to have a better chance of holding it together.
Bun is sesame and toasted, tomato, lettuce and American style cheese and ketchup. Meat is the main drawback. It's a patty, probably pre-frozen and then grilled on a flame. If the meat was ground and shaped, I'd eat here breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I'd also be dead.
Fix the music, get some proper meats going, and I'll love you...

But, overall, nothing special - other than the fact it was €4.50, which is pretty strong value prop. Wanted a bigger portion of fries and they were slightly soggy. Nothing about this is better than Bürgermeister around the corner. But it was fine....
