Like a David Lynch film (not in a good way).
I brought my girlfriend here for what I hoped would be a sexy funny date but instead I'm pretty sure she is going to break up with me instead. And you know what, I would deserve it after subjecting us to performances ranging from sad (woman dressed as little girl trying to amp up the crowd of...4) to surreal (a woman inside a huge fabric-wrapped metal spring, making the spring dance and slither around the stage) to the tragic (a half naked grown-ass man wearing fake fruit and dancing with an inflatable banana). By the end I was starting to doubt my understanding of burlesque and maybe even reality itself. I had to get out of there before any more psychological damage could occur.
It's also in the bottom of a mega-hotel in a deserted and corporate-feeling part of town-- far far from kreuzberg and neukolln and all the other places worth visiting.
One star for the fact that I laughed so hard I cried for about ten minutes straight....

The entertainers also work the bar, so you will have the chance to compliment them on their acts. And what good acts they have! The show is explosive, with no talking between the acts, before one longer break. The acts themself goes from sensual to humorous and back to sexy again! This really goes to show that true burlesque is as varied as the people performing it! The outfits goes from the clean cut, stylish ones, to the out-blinged and out-feathered! It's a feast for the eyes every time! The ears too! One of them is trained in classical opera! We have now been to Kleine Nachtrevue three times, and we will be back the next time we visit Berlin. PS. remember to bring cash, since it's cash only. You will experience nudity, so make sure you are comfortable with that before you go, and you will have...

The drinks are good and a bit more expensive than elsewhere, fine it's a closed little venue, I get it. Why only three stars? Feeling scammed leaves a bad taste in the mouth. We bought the "middle tickets" to be seated... In the middle right? Not in front, not in the back. When we arrived we were seated against the back wall. After mentioning this to the hostess, we were shunned off to bar stools with barely a better view (maybe even worse as its obviously not intended for stage viewing) for their mistaken seating. Be honest and admit that you oversold your seats, update your reservation system and for the love of goddess, start taking card payments, especially if you don't let people pay in advance! Also a warning for future cashless patrons, the atm next to the fancy hotel next door charges a hefty withdrawal fee, so don't get scammed twice in...
