Kumpelnest 3000 — Restaurant in Berlin

Kumpelnest was one of my favorite places to go party for the past 6 Years. However, yesterday night my friend and I were repeatedly harassed by another customer and approached the staff to seek their support. For me, Kumpelnest is no longer a place of mutual respect and freedom because the staff is not capable of ensuring that customers who violate the very values of Berlin’s night life leave their establishment. I was told off by the bar keeper for seeking male support as a woman and the door man repeatedly told me that the customer did not have to leave. My friend and I decided to leave because we felt so intimidated and not supported. Even though we asked the staff to at least make sure that the man stayed inside Kumpelnest to give us time to leave, because we were scared he would follow us onto the streets they let him leave right after us. Luckily, we were supported by another customers who brought us to the bus station so that the man decided to pass us.

I have seldomly has such a scary encounter in my life, because the harasser was not simply a drunk grabber but had psychopathic tendencies and said deeply disturbing things to create a suffocating power dynamic. I expect that an establishment like the Kumpelnest employ staff that are both sensitive and empathetic towards power dynamics in such a night life setting and lend support to their customers, instead of alienating and neglecting them. These issues are extremely serious for me as a young Berliner and I hope that one of my favorite places in Berlin will rethink its policies regarding harassment and...

I used to come very often to this place as it was near my place when I lived in Potsdamer str. After being my top favorite bar in Berlin, it's now the most racist bar you can ever go to, EVER. The security guy who was there at Friday June 4th 2022 was so violent and racist, that he refused to let us in just because of our color of skin, claiming that openly, which was very shocking for me. I was never stopped at any door in Germany and I ended up being stopped from entering my favorite place in Berlin, just because of a racist bouncer! One star because I can't put 0. I went there a frisay night around 2am and it was the worst bar/club experience of my life. It was so crowded you couldn't even move, reach the toilets or order something at the bar and if you still tried people push you out of their way. I think it's sad because this place has a lot of potential! They play great songs! Maybe it's better to go during the day or on week nights. Also the vibe were super weird there, there was a lot of men in suits? And old men in general, hanging around very young girls 😬 I really wouldn't recommend...
