Berlinale Palast — Local services in Berlin

The Berlinale Palast on Potsdamer Platz is actually a theatre for musicals. Every year, for two weeks, it is transformed into the most prestigious venue of the Berlinale. The Competition and several of the Berlinale Special Gala films celebrate their premiere at the Berlinale Palast. A throng of journalists, fans and autograph hunters wait for the stars to appear on the Red Carpet. The opening and awards ceremonies also take place in the Berlinale Palast. We booked the cheapest seats at the back and the view was still great.. the numbers are a bit confusing as there is 1234 right and 1234 left etc.

We saw the beatles musical and really enjoyed it.

The staff at the door were lovely and spoke to us and wished us a great show. I haven't had that at any other Berlin theatre so that was nice!

There is a lift to get to the top floor.. the stairs would be a nightmare for people with mobility otherwise.. it's tucked in the corner.

Our tickets said print out only accepted on them.. and so we had to find a print shop and pay for them... only to watch people show their tickets...

Derzeit ist hier im "Theater am Potsdamer Platz" die Komödie am Kurfürstendamm zu Gast. Wie waren zur Vorveranstaltung zur Komödie "Das perfekte Geheimnis". Bargeld wird nicht angenommen, nur Bankkarte. Die Garderobe haben wir erst gar nicht gesehen, weil so viele Menschen in 6 Reihen davorstanden. Der Preis für die Garderobe von 2,50 € wird nicht oben an den Nummern angezeigt, sondern liegt als Schild auf dem Tresen. 4 Personen nehmen die Kleidung an, und das dauert. Für einen Moment dachten wir, dass deswegen die Veranstaltung eine halbe Stunde später anfängt. Rucksäcke müssen abgegeben werden. Man bekommt dafür eine Nummer auf einen Zettel geschrieben (Kicher!). Jetzt wissen wir, dass wir besser das Pausengetränk vorbestellt hätten, denn es gab zu wenig Stehtische. Ein paar nette Damen haben uns aber dann doch an ihren Tisch herangelassen. Das Theater innen war ausschließlich im Parkett besetzt, zum Glück, denn wer schaut schon gern vom 4. Stock den Akteuren von oben auf den Kopf. Zum Glück waren wir im Parkett, Reihe 3. Es hätte aufgrund "dieser Umstände" gereicht, bevor das Stück beginnt, umzukehren und wieder zu gehen. Aber das Stück war so spannend, kurzweilig und so perfekt aufgeführt, dass wir sehr zufrieden nach diesem schönen Abend nach Hause zurückkehrten und dachten, so schlimm waren die Umstände auch wieder nicht und schließlich waren wir doch zum Theaterspiel gekommen. Wir können also wieder, weil...
