LAWRENCE berlin mitte — Restaurant in Berlin

We came here after a long trip of 14 hours by bus and train. We were hungry since our trip was very long so we took this opportunity to get some appetizers and a drink at Lawrence.

The server was really kind and told us that unfortunately the kitchen was closed but we could get some dessert options. We were hesitating but really needed some food. She told us that we could get food at nearby places so we went ahead and ordered some drinks (their signature bitter spritz after asking for their recommendation) just because we liked the service and we wanted to relax after our long trip for a bit.

Since their kitchen was closed I went ahead to the pizzeria a few meters further for some pizza since the nightshop didn't have much to offer. When I went back with the pizza we got told by the manager (?) that it's not allowed to consume foods from other places at their bar. Okay. We explained what the server told us (kitchen closed but you can get food some place else). He told us that she's new and she doesn't know the rules yet.

The only positivity left for this review goes out to that new waiter. We would have gladly bought another drink and enjoyed our first hour in Berlin this way. Instead we downed our drinks on an empty stomach because we couldn't wait to leave. We would have never gotten those drinks to begin with if she didn't have an alternative for our problem being hungry from our long trip. The "new" server knew all about costumer service, the "management" didn't.

If you read the responses they hand out to the feedback they get it is laughable. They actually blame their costumers for not being able to read the fine print of how to pay at their place??

Won't ever spend a dime at this place, I suggest everyone else to do the same thing. Read the reviews, €59 for one plate of appetizers is outrageous. Make up your own mind before entering this place.

Middle Eastern fine food at it's best! Superb food, great concept! We had a fantastic lunch at Lawrence and were very pleasantly surprised! Not only the food was amazing and but also service. We loved the philosophy behind the place - a partnership with refugees, aiding them to integrate using food, art & events The restaurant is beautifully decorated in white rustic lattice-work with patterned details with a lot of natural light and a lot of things imported from Syria and Lebanon. It was just so relaxing and gorgeous. The food was fantastic. We had a shared Mezze platter- hummus falafel, baba ghanoush, along with all the favorites from a wide range of mezze dishes. Excellent Lebanese Ksara wines, our favorite brand is served there, make sure you try it when you are there. For the main dish, we ordered Maklouba, a fragrant rice dish with fried eggplants and tender lamb, they also serve it vegan, Vegans and Vegetarians have plenty of choice at Lawrence. The restaurant is located in a very beautiful area in Mitte, The location is central and easy to find. This is a great restaurant and a wonderful place to sit back and enjoy the ambiance. We will...

Came here to celebrate my birthday after meeting one of the workers in the evening before.

We had beautiful super tasty 3 courses of food served by a very nice polite man called Amer explaining what goes into food, where does it come from, how is it made and what’s the history behind it. We were introduced to one of the owners with my boyfriend and showed a beautiful art exhibition in the top floor. Frank showed us around and explained the art and everything behind it - where does it come from, who’s the artist, how are they displaying and presenting and the beautiful meanings behind the art work.

The environment of the place is just lovely- the interior of the restaurant is beautiful, alot of plants, lights, matching tones and small details. Beautiful candlelight and good atmosphere.

Also the interior of the art space upstairs is filled with original furniture that’s just beautiful!

Alot of effort and time put into this place! Loving the whole restaurant, waitresses, the owner and all the people running the place!!

Would recommend to everyone to go there and can’t wait to go...
