LOCANDA — Restaurant in Berlin

I went to this restaurant twice. For the first time, I walked into it by accident in a cold rainy day. The owner made me a pasta and it tastes great. I noticed that the food is served on a cheap plastic plate, while on other tables they are served with nice porcelain bowl. I thought maybe it’s just because I ordered a pasta and they didn’t.

For the second time that I went to this restaurant, I ordered a pasta again. Still it tastes good. Later a couple came in and sat next to me. The lady ordered the same thing. The difference is that her pasta was served in a nice porcelain bowl, but mine was just like the first time, on a plastic plate with tacky prints. This time I don’t think it’s coincidence. In his eyes, I only deserve a plate like that.

What’s more, he surcharged me 1.2 euro both at the first and the second time. On the menu it says 10.5 euro, but he actually charged me 11.7 euro. After I pointed out, he then deducted part of the surcharge.

Food is good. But I would never...

We came here due to the incredible rating on Yelp and google. Both talked about authentic cheap Italian food.

We love the vibe of that area and indeed the food is self-made with quality ingredients. The owner is lovely and we felt instantly connected. The menu is changing daily and locanda seems to have regular customers.

What we didn’t like is that the owner introduced us to all his dishes and decided to put together some of his delicious food for us to try. We ended up getting a VERY all portion for two that didn’t even feed one person and paid 20€ which was way too overpriced and almost felt a bit ripped off. There were some dishes on the more pricey side that the owner did not add for us to try. Overall we’d come again if we want Mediterranean food but we will make sure to order specific dishes and not let the owner give us a sample plate or let us try a...

Italian euphoria. Unbelievable experience of extremely tasty food full of aroma, character and love. The food in #locandaberlin is very special, the family creating this amazing food delivers all their love and passion to their customer. One of the best food experiences in #berlin. The owner/cook is a great character and he shares his passion for the food of his village with exceptional joy. Definitely a place to try if in Berlin....
