Manufactum Brot & Butter — Restaurant in Berlin

Simple food correctly prepared. I've come here for brunch, breakfast, and to buy bread from the bakery. The bread is simply fantastic. The side salads are the best I've had in Berlin. The British sodas are quite nice, particularly the rose lemonade. The Brotzeit Platte only contains high quality meats and cheeses from around Europe -- from Leberkäse to Manchego & Chorizo to Fiegensenf & Camembert and more. Note that the menu is larger that what is written on the board -- ask for a full menu. Also the prices are a bit steep for Berlin. For example, the Brotzeit Platte für Zwei, a coffee, and a cappuccino costs about 26€. Update: I just purchased a Mohn Schnecke (poppy roll) that was incredibly chewy. Super close to the TU Berlin campus and adjacent to the line of restaurants and hotels on the street behind the place!

I would recommend visiting right when they open in the morning since there’s no crowd, the breads and coffee are super fresh, and the sunlight hits all the right spots. It gets busy very quickly and the morning staff are super lovely. I don’t read or speak German so it was chaotic for me to order, but on most days I was helped methodically by the staff. A big hug to them for making my mornings easier!

The bread is good, but staff is mostly unfriendly and most importantly, the food served is not at all what one would expect. Ingredients are NOT top quality, they serve salad that is already old and yellow on dirty tables... and every time We have eaten there (3 times in total) we have gotten a stomachache afterwards. Maybe they are not following proper hygiene standards or I don't know... but it's definitely strange to always get sick after eating there ! We had given it the benefit of doubt two times... but after today, definetly...
