steamed fish was dry and the sauce lacked taste. nasi goreng was a travesty. you could actually taste the supermarket curry powder. (why would a chinese restaurant even have it on the menu if they have no clue how to actually make it?) the vegetable dishes were good. the wan tan soup with shrimps had barely shrimp filling in it and was therefore way overpriced.
there was trash everywhere. behind my chair someone left their empty bobba tea. we didn t receive chopsticks. we didn t receive napkins until we did, because we asked for them, but they were not even matching the number of people, so we had to ask again. we didn t receive vinegar with the jiaozi. we didn t receive rice. what made it worse was a big group of chinese speaking people that were raising hell. they were extremely loud and seemed to be friends with the owner. that whole side of the restaurant everyone but that table ate silently, because it was too loud to be able to communicate without shouting. the owner of the place didn t seem to mind and sometimes he sat with them. with that noise level it was difficult to ask for all the things that were missing or ask for things that we would have liked and the waiters were basically avoiding doing service. i have a peanut allergy and there were traces of peanuts in a dish. none of the dishes were supposed to contain peanuts and didn t, but there were traces of it in something, because of hygiene in the kitchen.
the toilets were in the basement and hygiene is an issue. washing your hands feels very important after having used them and washing the shoes would have felt equally important. lots of pee on the floor.
i am sorry, but it was just an awful experience. there was one waitress who didn t seem to be student. she was the only person who seemed to care about service. sadly, she worked on the other side.
the foto of the interior presented on google seems to be another restaurant. it has nothing to do with what you will actually encounter. it s totally different. very misleading and not ok. i think they posted the rendering the interior designer created on the computer rather than what actually ended up being...

Read moreGood Chinese food in Berlin is hard to find, and famous places like Good Friends, Shaniu’s House of Noodles, and Lon Men’s are not that great. Given this I give Meet You 5 stars though in the USA the place would rate lower. But we are not in the states or anywhere else, we are in Berlin.
The food here is solid and reasonably priced across the board. There are a few misses on the menu such as the “house special” Chongqing or Hunan noodles which are basically noodles swimming in a big bowl of hot chili sauce and little else and best avoided. Everything else — the duck, chicken, and pork dishes — are all well prepared.
Interestingly, the restaurant has an array of Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese specialties as well that are surprisingly good.
Service — almost entirely Chinese staff — is friendly and professional. German, english and various Asian...
