Jannowitz Bridge is a historic bridge in Berlin that spans over the River Spree, connecting the districts of Mitte and Kreuzberg. The bridge was named after the nearby Jannowitz Gate, one of the former city gates of Berlin that was located in the area. Jannowitz Bridge is an important transportation hub, serving as a link between several major roads and public transportation lines in the city.

The bridge was built in 1930 and designed by the architect Friedrich Krause, who also designed several other bridges in Berlin. The Jannowitz Bridge is made of steel and features a simple yet elegant design that is typical of the functionalist style of the time. The bridge's structural elements are visible, giving it a distinctive appearance that sets it apart from other bridges in the city.

During World War II, Jannowitz Bridge was heavily damaged by Allied bombing raids. However, the bridge was quickly repaired and reopened to the public after the war. In the following years, the bridge underwent several renovations and modernizations to ensure its continued use and safety.

Today, Jannowitz Bridge remains an important landmark in Berlin. It is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike, offering beautiful views of the River Spree and the surrounding cityscape. The bridge is also an important part of Berlin's transportation infrastructure, connecting several major roads and public transportation lines.

In addition to its practical uses, Jannowitz Bridge is also a popular spot for cultural events and celebrations. The bridge's spacious pedestrian walkways and bike lanes make it an ideal venue for outdoor events, such as concerts, festivals, and art exhibitions. These events help to showcase the beauty and versatility of Jannowitz Bridge, and they provide a unique opportunity for visitors to experience this iconic landmark in a new and exciting way.

In recent years, Jannowitz Bridge has undergone several additional renovations to improve its accessibility and safety. New lighting has been installed to improve visibility for drivers and pedestrians, and the bridge's structural elements have been reinforced to ensure its continued use for years to come.

In conclusion, Jannowitz Bridge is a historic and important landmark in Berlin. Built in the 1930s, the bridge has played a significant role in the transportation and cultural life of the city. Whether you are a local resident or a visitor to Berlin, Jannowitz Bridge is a must-see attraction that offers stunning views of the River Spree and the city's beautiful...

Absolutely love this place, we have been coming for years. Although the service is usually quite good my last experience was not the best and I came away upset. The only female bar staff working on may 01 was unfortunately very rude and shouted across the bar at my English friend, stating „if you were German you would understand „ admittedly he was confused and German is not his first language but instead of trying to help him she developed an unhelpful angry attitude and she generally didn’t seem to enjoy her job. This is the second time in two weeks we received bad service from the same person. Maybe time for some training on customer service because it looks like it’s been forgotten...

Cool spot right next to the Spree Canal, where you can watch boats go by and just enjoy the relaxed Berlin atmosphere. The music is light, the crowd is easygoing, and it’s a great place to take a short break from exploring the city or enjoy sunny day with friends. I tried a burger — simple but tasty — and overall, it felt like the perfect Berlin moment.

Great atmosphere that was created with tiered seating, beach chairs with addition of sand make this a mini oasis to relax to after miles of day hikes. The DJ had an incredible sound system and the view of the spree was amazing. Be prepared to pay €1 extra for Berliner Kindl which is considered the standard beverage to enjoy when visiting the city.
