Mother's Heart — Restaurant in Berlin

I wanted to take my girlfriend yesterday, as we sat down I explained my last take away order the week before wasn’t complete. I gave them the opportunity to just take 5 EUR off the bill, as this would have been a more cost-efficient way of compensating me for their mistake. Without asking who took my order or anything, It was decided I wasn’t telling the truth.

Having been a customer since they opened and continued to support them during corona, easily well over a few hundred euros of business, they decide the cost of a soup (5 EUR) is more important. Out of principle, we left straight away. When you have such a money grabbing and greedy attitude, you really have to wonder about the quality of food and produce they decide to buy, how they treat their staff behind the scenes and how many hours they allocate for cleaning. Having worked in kitchens myself before, it’s normal to get things wrong and make up for it and make sure the customer has a good experience. They are just greedy, lazy and distrusting. My favourite restaurant in the neighbourhood ❤️ absolutely in love with this place! I know pho is the star of the show when it comes to soups, but they have a soup called Sua Dua that’s my absolute favourite, so flavourful and warm, really makes you feel like you’re in the warm embrace of a mother. The curries are delicious, and their sushi is also top tier. Normally we get takeout but I’ve eaten in the restaurant a few times and it’s lovely in there, the attention is so kind it’s such a nice spot. Also erstmal war ich sehr angetan von Look und feeling dieses neuen Restaurants vor meiner Haustür.

Auch die Vorspeise war lecker, dann kam allerdings das "Lammcarée mit ... asiatischen Kräutern und Minze" und meine dazu gab es eine grüne Soße, die nichts asiatisches hatte...

Meine Freundin probieren lassen und ja, "das ist Pesto", verdutzte Gesichter, stinknormales Basilikum-Pesto ausm Glas und nirgendwo ein asiatisches Kraut...

Dem Kellner freundlich meine Enttäuschung ausgedrückt, "ich red nochma mit der Küche ", doch statt einer Erklärung, einer Entschuldigung oder wenigstens etwas Koriander gab es nur später die Frage: "ist bei euch alles gut?"

Naja, dann hab ich enttäuscht die Pho meiner Freundin (mit Koriander) halb aufgegessen, gefrustet n halbes Bier gestürzt und bin zum Bankautomaten gelaufen, weil nur Bares geht...

Insgesamt echt traurig, so vom Abendessen nach Hause zu kommen, aber wenigstens tröstete mich dort die Info, dass mein Mitbewohner auch Lamm mit Pesto bekam und das anscheinend Standard ist...

Ich bearbeite dann mal in Bezug auf eure Antwort: Shiso und Minze habe ich definitiv nicht geschmeckt, weder noch, nur Basilikum Pesto... Und ich bin selber in der Gastro unterwegs und sollte den Unterschied kennen. Koriander und/oder ThaiBasilikum wäre auch nett gewesen, war aber nirgendwo auf meinem Essen. Das mit der Kartenzahlung stimmt, hätte ich fragen können, würde ich auch niemandem übel nehmen, wenn ich mich nicht verarscht gefühlt hätte... Ich hätte übrigens kein Problem, wenn bei euch Leute arbeiten würden, die nicht asiatischer Herkunft wären... Ich möchte halt nur das bekommen, was...
