House of Gin - STAY GOLD! — Restaurant in Berlin

An extensive collection of gin BUT unfortunately the bartender knows almost nothing about the gin.. He can't even say the name of their house gin properly lol. Reading the reviews, I believe someone who is more knowledgeable wasn't present that day. It's a big pity for me because I know my gin and I would like to try something new, different and perhaps unique. He can't recommend anything. When we asked to have a smell of gin, at first he allowed us and then later said "well, normally you are not allowed to" which seriously let me tell you, I have been to enough high end gin bars and we are allowed to. I regret to give this establishment only 1 star due to a recent disappointing experience. During my visit with a friend, our waiter accidentally spilled a cocktail on my friend's attire. While accidents happen, the subsequent service left much to be desired. Although we received an apology and a replacement drink, it lacked the presentation one would expect. Additionally, when the bill arrived, we were charged for every cocktail, including the one spilled. Considering our total bill exceeded 100€ and the upscale nature of the bar where drinks range from 12-16€, I believe it would have been a kind gesture to at least remove the spilled drink from our bill or offer a complimentary drink. This gin bar is in our hotel. The cocktails are super tasty but on both occasions we went here the bar was virtually empty. On the first evening we sat outside, the bar is on a busy road so the vibe wasn’t great. The people next to us were smoking cigars which stunk so we left quickly. When we ordered one glass of tap water with our cocktails the barman condescendingly replied “we try and sell our bottles of water here” which was really annoying as I obviously didn’t want a bottle of water and I could have just walked back into the lobby and got a glass of water as the staff are super friendly in there and only too happy to be helpful.
