North Andes Coffee — Restaurant in Berlin

This is a very cozy cafe which is popular also as a to go solution, selling quality coffee with non-dairy milk option (oat milk). It is also possible to indulge in some pastry (pastel de nata, empanadas, American- style cookies and brownies). I really enjoyed the brand of their oat milk which made the right amount of oat. I also had an espresso and the taste was really good. I wasn’t too impressed by the pastel de nata. I feel the crispy consistency as well as the cinnamon were missing, and for a person who is used to Portuguese pastels, it’s definitely not the same. So I would either improve the recipe or not warm them up. This said, I recommend this place for the quality of its coffee and for the nice woman behind the counter, who is friendly with customers and can handle a full store...

We had coffee here twice, but were oddly disappointed the second time. The first time we had coffee here we ordered an iced latte and an iced americano, which were both really delicious and refreshing on a hot day.

The second time we both ordered the iced latte, since it was so good the first time. However, we got served a completely different cup than we one we had the day before. Suddenly the coffee used was way more sour resulting in an unpleasant (to us) kind of drink. Furthermore was the coffee the first time served in some kind of ribbed bamboo (I think) cup, while the second time we got served a way smaller glass of coffee.

So all in all good quality coffee, but coming back might be a bit of a gamble since drinks can taste wildly...

i don’t like to spend too much time here, the interior isn’t that welcoming and the sun never finds her way here either, yet the place somehow manages to shine on its own. it also doesn’t try to pretend to be something that it isn’t, no, the reason i stop by here almost everyday is not only the impeccable coffee, the great beans and fantastic snacks but the people behind the counter who manage, even on days of rain, where speaking to anyone might feel like a burden, to spark a sense of warmth and conversation, effortlessly, with kind words and, again,...
