I am just back from a weekend trip with one of my friends to Berlin. Having read about Qiu in all our guidebooks we thought it would be worth a try and we were not disappointed, We were staying near by at the Ritz so ideally located for a short 3 minute walk over to the Mandala Hotel where it is situated. So to start we arrived at Qiu and asked to see the cocktail menu, from that we ordered Vespa's and they were incredible, really very good and the service matched. We both ate from a very reasonable menu in the small restaurant and were given a lovely table with a view of the Sony Centre and Film Museum so lots of activity out of the window. I had spaghetti with truffle oil and fillet steak which was divine and my eating partner had fillet steak cooked medium and it was also perfect. We enjoyed many a glass of Veuve Rose which was better value by the glass at 14euro than by the bottle which was around 70euro. We did actually notice that in a few restaurants in Berlin, there didn't seem to be any encouragement to buy a bottle of champagne as it was always better value by the glass assuming only 5.5 glasses in each bottle at the most.
So to end, I would not hesitate to go back to Qiu or to...
Read more5 stars are for the cocktails! (We did not eat) They were perfect! Perfectly mixed, served, decorated. There were 4 of us to go to the movies around the corner, 2 for Oppenheimer, 2 for Barbie. I was in the Barbie fraction, so the 2 of us were able to drink before and after the movie while the Oppenheimer fraction was already or still watching. A real treat. The bar was not very full, rather empty and the cocktails rather expensive. TOTALLY WORTH IT! Nice crisps were served. Wasabi nuts and other snacks were served. Because of the rain, the bar-keeper offered an umbrella. The service...

Portions are not very big, but with the soup or salad included in the daily menu and some bread it's a good amount of food for lunch.
I can't give it 5 stars because I've had mixed experiences with dessert. While the main course typically goes from good to mind-blowingly good, dessert can be...
