Berlin is known for their unfriendly service, but this place goes beyond that. The treatment we received was absolutely terrible and they did not seem to care at all about their customers. We booked a x4 people table at noon for 19:00, when we got there, we had the only table by the door and the restaurant was not even full. Not ideal at all, since every time someone got in/out they would push two of us (due to the lack of space) and it was also the coldest spot in the restaurant. When we told the waiter we did not feel comfortable there, and that it would be cold, he simply said "oh, but the heater is on" and left. There were bigger tables in cosier and warmer spots, occupied by just one person. Awful customer service and worse space management. When we saw they would not do anything for us, even though we booked a table 10 hours earlier, we explained we could not enjoy our meal under those conditions and had to leave. Not only did they not try absolutely anything to help us, they did not even say sorry nor even look us at, the waiter and waitress looked the other way and we ended up leaving. Dont ever book a table, maybe if you show up and there is some Free room, it might be ok, but I dont feel like spending a cent there never ever again. Dont accept any bookings in avance if you dont want/need customers and are also not willing to treat them well and make them...
Read moreWe went here twice - once for lunch, and once for dinner - in our two short days in Berlin.
Lunch - ordered the vegetable noodles with tofu and the fried chicken dish. This was right after a long overnight flight, and the portions were perfect and food scrumdiddlyumptious. The tofu on the noodles was fried JUST like chicken and was soooo good with the fresh vegetables. The chicken was also phenomenal with that excellent breading with the right level of spiciness which can be a rarity in Europe.
Dinner - KBBQ!! Pork belly was ordered for two with the sides. We ordered an appetizer of kimchi but it wasn’t necessary because kimchi came with the bbq order with the other banchan and lots of white rice and lettuce leaves. Honestly we didn’t touch the sauces because it was so good as is, but I would guess they were also good. Also we didn’t have to do any of the cooking as the servers took care of the initial cook, so this might be a plus or minus for you. I’m sure if you ask they’ll let you control the burner.
Drinks (both lunch and dinner, don’t judge us) - the Korean beer was excellent of course and we also had original soju and blueberry soju to round out the experience. 10/10 recommend especially when it’s absolutely pouring rain and you want something both gastronomically AND...
Read moresays it's korean restaurant but having classic sushi sets, pancakes are way too greesy, the main sauce for the pork bulgogi is god damn sweet chilli sauce (?!?!???!?!) which none of Koreans use (we don't even have sweet chilli sauce like that in korea. you can't find any unless you look for a dip for your chips) putting paprika in beef bulgogi ( we didn't even have paprika until we actually started to buy it from other countries. which means paprika in korean food tells it's not korean authentic food ) would have been enjoyed if it tasted good anyways but it didnt. I and my friend are a huge food fan and my friend recently fell in love with korean food cuz of me but he said hard nope since his first bite and we didn't even finish quarter of the entire food. we ordered around 50 euros with 2 appeteiser and 2 main dishes.
as a korean moved to berlin. and as a korean food lover and as well as a korean who wanted to give his friend good experience about korean food this was complete disaster.
I actually worry if anyone tries food here and starts to think ' ah korean food is like this. Japanese sushi and all the taiwanese ingredience and sauces ' no I don't want that. change your info as fusion asian restuarant or somewhat like that!
