ALEX Berlin Uber Platz — Restaurant in Berlin

We went there with two other friends for dinner. From the outside it looked like a nice restaurant and they made an effort for halloween with the decorations and costumes. However, we waited almost an hour for two starters (ie. Nachos and bruschettas). We asked the waitress who took our order where were they and she told us it got « lost ». 10mn later we finally got our starters. Then when it was time for our main dishes, the waitress came back with 2 plates. We waited 10mn thinking that they would bring the third one. So we again asked the waitress where was the third dish? She replied that she thought we would share the meal. Honestly, we just laughed at this point. My friend got her plate when we were already finished with ours. What was the cherry on top of the situation is the waitress asking for a tip after everything that has happened. Honestly, she may have expected a tip but we expected at least a complimentary gesture to apologize for all the things that happened. It’s a shame because it looked like a good restaurant overall but the bad service made the experience...

I do not appreciate waiters And their service, they don’t manage long queues well, we waited for 15min and they were looking at us but purposely ignoring people in the queue - so they leave by them Selfs.

Edit 1 (Post reply from Owner): I do not disagree with reservation or already occupied spaces. Just to elaborate - me and my friend and Plus 2 other groups were behind me. In front of us there were 3 tables which got empty - There was a Lady and Gentleman serving that day (Maybe yes there will be understaffing for that particular shift) - However My complain is not focus with reservation, its more related to responsiveness of waiters to waitlist customers (Even they looking at us and purposefully ignoring without acknowledging our presence it's not appreciated!)

The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. The Halloween decorations and the costumes of the staff contributed to the good experience. However an hour after we had ordered we still didn't have our entries. When we asked the waitress she responded that they got "lost" and went to search for them (ngl, this was quite comical, we almost forgot how hungry we were). After a bit of waiting we got our entries. When it became time for our main dishes, she brought us 2 meals for 3 people and when we asked for the third meal we ordered she said that she thought we would share the two meals. We explained that all of us planned to eat a meal and she said they would prepare the third portion asap which meant that out friend got her meal only after the rest of us had already finished eating. All the waiting and misunderstanding really decreased our experience in what seems to be a pretty decent...
