We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and everything was great, the sauna outdoors was a great touch!
However, I had made a reservation for a dinner for my boyfriend's 30th birthday for a large group, the events team offered a private room which was lovely and when we arrived the table setting was beautiful. However, communication wasn't clear before the event and during the night. We were told the drinks package was available but it wasn't clear that it was the only option for drinks and that we couldn't order from a menu as you normally would and that the mains would be plated individually but this wasn't the case either, everything was shared and very small portions, very disappointing for 56e pp, especially for Berlin prices. But the biggest disappointment was the service, no one introduced the menu at any point, dishes would just arrive without information. When we ordered the mains we were just asked to choose from the key ingredient "chicken" or "mushroom" and no other details were provided until the food arrived. We had one waiter who was working 2 events at the same time and so we felt pretty abandoned the whole night without much service. I was later told that were wasn't enough staff and the waiter was new, but I had reserved this 2 months in advance so I was expecting a little more planning. At the end we only paid for the bottles we consumed which was a fair compromise. But overall for a 30th birthday at a hefty final price, the experience was quite disappointing, the food was good but nothing out of...
Read moreThis was a cute find, but nothing too memorable.
We stopped for a business lunch in this courtyard restaurant. While we knew it's more of a breakfast place - we were expecting a bit more for lunch. They only serve 1 option for lunch each day, and while you can mix and match with other appetizers - nothing was done spectacularly well.
We had a lunch tray (with tomato broth, cauliflower dip, and salad). The tray also came with berries & yogurt as a dessert. We also had one fish & chips, which was the one main course served that day.
While I don't mind the idea of focusing the menu - nothing was particularly super well done: fish and chips were nothing to write home about, tomato broth was plain weird and felt more like a sauce than a broth, dips were meh, and dessert - while perfectly fine - was essentially berries with yogurt. Salad was well done, and the flavors were rich and fresh.
Service was great, and the courtyard felt relaxed and hidden - sorr if an escape from the nain street outside.
I think that with a more robust menu, or simply the same focus with better execution - this can...

If you wanna be that hipster, who made it all the way from your provincial town to Warschauer Straße only to eat 4 steamed cabbage leafs for 50 quid - well fine, that‘s your choice. But, the personel is just as uniquely “friendly“ as the overpriced concept: Everything is grown on their own farm. Maybe that‘s the reason why the servings are so minimal: they just had a bad harvest. So food had to be rationed. Same goes for the drinks btw. „You can order anything“ is followed by: But we don‘t have this and that, because we don‘t have organge juice. So you‘ll end up drinking a cocktail that‘s more of an alcoholic plum lemonade (bc plum sirup they have). Luckily when people stop fighting over the sourdough bread (because it‘s the best thing on the menu) - then they leave with the good feeling that a.) they definetly couldn‘t have eaten more calories than what they burned walking here, b.) boosted the economy with the price they paid, c.) were guest in this really cool and urban place, with a really cool concept, that made them feel superior to the other...
