The Store Kitchen — Restaurant in Berlin

Really not worth a detour.... Came over because their lunch gets good reviews. OK, why not have a try?! First impression: Staff very friendly (except the barista). Ordered "Grilled cheese with asparagus and beetroot relish" which turned out to be melted cheese on sourdough toast with grilled asparagus plus an opulent salad garnish. Relish? Not a hint of it... While eating it I had been terrified by "music" - which (of course) was meant to be very cool but honestly it made it hard for me to enjoy my lunch as it was miles away from what the majority of folks would call music. I would suggest their DJ takeing some extra lessons. Got my flat white for free because I had missed the relish. :-)) Didn't like that the Barista poured twice bits of the milk away in order to get the right amount of milk for the flat white. First flat white of his Barista-life?! May be. I think we are throwing away too much food anyway. Can't be that difficult to get the right amount into that milky pot. Flat white finally tasted all right but I anyway can't understand all that Bonanza hype. If you are around go and make your own experience. I was expecting so much more from the food in this place. I had a roast chicken for lunch and a mango coconut turmeric shake. The chicken was very hard to chew on, the meat was not easy to cut - at this price I was expecting more flavour, more quality, the type of meat that just falls off the bones. There was no bread with the order, my friend's chicken was not cooked and by the time she got a new portion we had all already finished eating. kinda feels like sitting in urban outfitters and eating lunch. the crowd is the "avocado egg sourdough" type. they have very nice plants for sale. i asked a store employee if they could assist me in some basic pricing infos and they had a little fit and acted as if they where famous. sorry but its still retail, even if it looks like some bloggers pinterest layout. id say all in all 1 star for the effort of doing something different. however operations/execution should be left to the pros. do your self a favour and go to...
