tl;dr Appalling service. I think the food was nice, but I felt so unwelcome I did not enjoy it. Will not be returning. Long version: We had about 1 hour before we needed to go to a flat viewing, so we went to check if they had a free table, with the intention of leaving if they didn’t. We were told something was about to free up “but give me 3 mins to check”. 5 mins later, she came out and said some people in the back were about to leave. Then we waited for 10 more mins, and nothing. At that point, we were starting to run a bit short on time, so I went inside to politely ask if it would take much longer. The man treated me as if I was causing a scene (with a very over the top calming tone), and proceeded to explain to me that if people come who have a reservation, they have a priority on the table (I had made no mention of other people, only asked about our table), I didn’t say anything and went back outside to talk to my boyfriend and see if we should leave. We were literally turning around to leave when they called us in, since at that point we were quite short on time, we went in. Then, the waitress came and brought complimentary shots to everyone else sitting around us as a “thank you for waiting outside in the cold today” (they were mostly people we’d seen arrive and walk in before us) but skipped our table. I am so mad at myself for letting somebody so patronisingly explain to me what a reservation is and then the waitress walking right by our table with the complimentary shots and not just storming off, but that’s my own issue. My boyfriend gave them a 10% tip, I said nothing, and then we left and felt bad about what...
Read more„We just ask one thing from our customers, bring good vibes only!“ ... That is all I need to know about a restaurant that ends up on my „wanna go“-list. 😁 Ok, I admit that some of the pictures did trigger my appetite as well. 🤤 Neither did promise too much. We were welcomed into a colorful and relaxed atmosphere and served by happy, friendly people. The dishes on the menu made it difficult to decide as everything sounds good and there are options for eveyone - vegans, vegetarians and all the others. 😁 I had the Brekkie bun and - unusually for me - I played it save and had it without the Rösti but the way I inhaled the sandwich with joy, I could have easily added the Rösti. I was just a happy guy, loving the food, the company and the atmosphere. Finally, they are a cash-only place but they also have a „no split bills“-policy. Personally, I do like that. I feel bad if people ruin their pleasurable meal experience by dividing the bill to the cent. I prefer for one person to pay and just share more meals together until everyone has paid...
Read moreTucker Brunch Bar is nicely decorated place with good food and good coffee and is also an accurate representation of a typical anglosaxon neoliberal gentrification of Fhain. You will want to have a meaningful conversation with your cute bun in expressive colours until someone tells you how to start eating it, but another misunderstanding of the concept of background ambient music mocks all your attempts of listening to your own inner voice. I am not sure if the people shouting at each other is a result or a reason of the high decibels that swallow the entire scene like a black hole. Either way, it subtly completes the illusion of having a brunch in Austin TX or wherever. But i like those cute little water glasses. All in all, good food, good coffee. If you have the patience of tolerating other fleshy living organisms that continuously need aural stimulation to escape their inner discontent, sharing the same space as you, definitely...
