Taquería Mexa Berlin — Restaurant in Berlin

I have not been in Mexico, so I can't tell how authentic the food is. It was not bad, but also not outstanding, it was quite okay. I liked the Pork (they have the same 3 variants for every dish) and the Cactus was interesting, but wouldn't order it again.

It felt like every dish was the same, just indifferent sizes if "bread" (well the taco hull or how ever this is called) 😁. Which is homemade but didn't really live up to my expectations. It tasted a little like whole grain food, which was not the flavor I would have expected. But like said, maybe this is how it is supposed to be.

The owner is nice, it's self service.. I did like the look and feel of the place tho. Would not necessarily go again there are just too many choices around the area.

The tacos are very tasty, but: By far one of the most unfriendly lazy waiters I have ever experienced. I even had to write down my order myself because he didn't feel like writing it down himself. Although no one else is in the store, you are supposed to place the order yourself and pick up the food yourself at the counter. Not even the menu is given to you. When asked how to open the drinks, they just grunt and point with their heads to the corner of the room where an opener is. Napkins also lie somewhere in a corner and you have to get yourself, if there are any left. You really don't feel welcome here. Every kebab store is friendlier. But the worst: no one wears a mask, not even when preparing food. All viruses are simply breathed into the food. Absolutely...

The food is average while the price is quite high for what you get. Moreover the staff is super unfriendly.

My friend had ordered (after she had written it down) 3 pork and 6 chicken tacos. When she had asked if she should repeat the order, the waiter had said no. We were served 2 chicken and 7 pork, not even remotely close to the original order.

When we asked about it, he implied my friend was lying and saying 2-7 was what she had ordered even though she definitely had not.

Instead of showing hospitality he and the owner started talking in Spanish, being rude to us and because we didn’t want to fight with them, we accepted the order even though one of us does not eat pork.

All in all: overhyped with a rude attitude....
