Vietland — Restaurant in Berlin

I am extremely disappointed, especially as a loyal customer that comes 1-3 times a week and always brings more people there. It is, or was, my favourite restaurant. Everything is usually always great and I know the Menu by heart. Except for this last time! when my Salmon was completely burnt and some pepper pieces had mould on them. You can see that in the 2nd plate above, the green moldy corners of the pepper and the black burnt salmon skin. You can also see black pieces in the sauce which broke into the sauce when I tried to peel it off the fish and made it so bitter. It was so burnt that I could barely peel it off. When I went to the waiter to ask them if they could please cook another salmon for me, this time not charcoaled, he replied - no, and that I am not supposed to eat the skin. Excuse me? I eat it every time, that's the point, it's crispy, and that is not an excuse for them when they over cook the fish. It was bitter and effected the taste of the whole dish. I ate that dish x100 times, so one time they burn it and refuse to replace it for a loyal customer?! That's so disappointing and extremely rude. You should treat your loyal...

Wow. The food was incredible! Highly recommend and was brilliant for vegetarians too. The sichuan aubergine was perfect, so flavoursome and the texture was incredible. The tofu in it was delightful too, with the perfect amount of chew and crunch. My partner has the vegetables in peanut sauce and the peanut sauce was so rich, sweet and complimentary of the rest of the dish. On top of the food being cooked to perfection the service was good, the food was delivered fast and the staff were helpful and smiling (even with our bad attempts at German). They also have some cocktails on the menu and the mojito was very fresh and the right balance between sweet and sharp. There are outside and inside tables and the decor inside is a calm and mellow atmosphere. If you are in the area and thinking of somewhere to eat then...

the decor is really cute, but that’s the only positive thing along with the service i ordered several starters, out of five, only two were good a vietnamese spring roll with no coriander, no mint, no vietnamese pâté? in a vietnamese restaurant?

the octopus salad was good, and the chicken skewers were decent

for the main course i had pho soup… and what a surprise it was literally just hot water with noodles, a few herbs, and terrible beef no taste, no depth, no flavor at all

very expensive for something so bland really disappointing, especially since vietnamese food is supposed to be rich...
