When Dreams Come True — Restaurant in Berlin

I cannot understand the high rating of this place. We went there Sunday morning for breakfast.

The lady at the counter was not friendly and more focused on her smartphone than on us. As it turned out during our visit, this seems to be the attitude of all of the employees.

The selection of dishes was only great at first sight. All dishes, that we ordered, tasted really boring. One could think they forgot to use any spices.

Further point of critics: The table was dirty. The toilets were dirty. My chair and my plate were damaged. The self-service feels like Vapiano. The atmosphere is more like in a coffee corner in a library than in an actual cozy cafe.

The snobbish attitude of the three ladies, who were working there during our visit, has to be mentioned a second time, because it gave us a really uncomfortable feeling.

I really tried to remember at least one positive aspect, but the only "positive" thing I can say is that the coffee tasted ok. But sorry, that’s not enough to go...

I would say its a 3.5 stars. ATTENTION: Only cash accepted.

Food Quality: the food was good. Very tasty and freshly made. Unfortunately, i got the wrong order, but didnt find out until i saw the actual pictures of my dish on reviews. The food was still good, but wasnt really amazed by it.

Portions: quite decent. I was very satisfied with the quantity.

Drinks: my smoothie did not arrive for a long time. I was half done with my food when i went over to the counter to ask where it was and they started creating after that.

Price: $$ not expensive

Service: the people are very friendly. I did not expect the self service style for a brunch.

Atmosphere: definitely did not like the style of the restaurant. Had a “kindergarten workshop” vibe.

We happened to find this place close to our hotel whilst staying in Berlin. Despite it being cash only (you cannot drop stars for this - we discovered most of Berlin's independent stores are cash only). We were so excited to attend after looking online, and it was just the perfect place to grab breakfast before a busy day.

We ordered shakshuka and pancakes, both were absolutely delicious - best pancakes I have had in years...

The staff were lovely, music was really good and it meant that we could chill out and plan our day together. It wasn't busy at all and was lovely to see people there co-working and co-studying. We decided to get extra drinks and read as the atmosphere was really lovely.
