We went to Bobbe for the first time and it was a real pleasant surprise! We had heard about the restaurant, but as we lived in another area, we never ate there. We are so glad we could do it spontaneously. The food was delicious, nice portions and presented with great taste. We ordered hummus and the pita arrived not completely warmed up. I asked to heat it up a bit more and they kindly apologised and brought a completely new warm pita, again with a second apology. Throughout the dinner they made sure everything was fine and at the end they surprised us with a free chocolate cake dessert :) I highly recommend this restaurant. Das Restaurant Bobbe muss noch an vielen Elementen arbeiten, um dem Niveau der israelischen Restaurants in Berlin zu entsprechen und zu erreichen. Von außen lädt Bobbe mit seinem atypischen Look eines Restaurants ein und versetzt einen erstmal in nostalgische Zeiten mit den schönen jüdischen Dekorationen. Leider fängt es schon bei der Menükarte an, die von vornherein uns auf Englisch gegeben wird und nach der Bitte einer deutschen Menükarte wurde uns gesagt, dass es keine gäbe. Ein Menü auf Deutsch zu bekommen, sollte mehr als selbstverständlich in Deutschland sein. Zunächst bestellten wir uns als Vorspeise Hummus mit einem großen israelischen Salat. Überraschend fand ich, dass, obwohl wir zwei Personen waren, uns nur eine Pita gegeben wurde in einer so großen Blechschüssel, von der mindestens 4 Personen essen könnten. Nach der Bitte nach zwei weiteren Pitas, wurde uns eine zweite, genauso große, Blechschüssel serviert mit den weiteren zwei Pitas drinne. Am Ende hatten wir zwei große Blechschüssel auf dem Tisch stehen, mit kaum Inhalt. “Richtige Augenweide!“ Auch bei der Servierung von dem großen israelischen Salat habe ich mich über die Größe gewundert. Ich hatte mehr erwartet! Zudem musste man nach der roten Tomate im Salat suchen, da diese doch unreif waren und entsprechend war die Farbe. Weiter ging es bei der Hauptspeise. Erwartungsvoll auf ein gesundes und reich an Gemüse Essen gewartet, wird uns unser Essen nicht auf Tellern, sondern auf Blechtellern serviert, wie beim Militär. Teilweise rutschten die Teller beim Essen weg. Auch die Mengen waren disproportional zueinander. Zunächst wurde uns ein viel zu kleines Blumenkohl serviert, obwohl es auf der Speisekarte als allererstes beschrieben wurde und im Gegenzug viel zu viel von der Reisspezialität „Mejadara“ serviert und wiederum viel zu wenig Tahini, sodass man das Essen nicht nach seinen Wünschen bedecken konnte aufgrund der kleinen Menge. Außerdem fällt auf, dass es sich zwar um ein kosheres Restaurant handelt, jedoch wir ein komplett veganes Gericht bestellt haben, das selbst nach dem Kashrut als teils parve angesehen wird und damit das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht angemessen ist, im Sinne von zu teuer. Auch bei dem interessanten, wohlschmeckenden, jedoch wieder kleinem Dessert wurde diese lieblos serviert, was dessen Charme dann komplett stahl. Kurzum: Das Essen selbst war okay, aber nicht besonders im Geschmackserlebnis, die man in anderen israelischen Restaurants in Berlin erleben kann . Außerdem isst das Auge auch mit und in diesem Fall hat es gar nicht geschmeckt, sondern erinnert eher an eine Kaserne.
