Zimt & Zucker Kaffeehaus — Restaurant in Berlin

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day so I was very dissapointed by this place..The service and the value for money were the main reason for my 2 star review!

But first what I liked: the interior & decor, big portions of food and house lemonade

What I didn’t enjoy: service was rude, food taste was okay but nothing special, sense of rush..Explained later more closely:

Rude service mainly from one older waitress: She didn’t find our reservation, so felt it was our fault from the beginning and the place over complicated the matter - Finally we were offered a table and told we need to leave before the next table arrives (which is totally normal for busy places, if you haven’t made a reservation which we had) It was from +13 to +15c outside and our table was close to the door so I asked if they could close the door ”no we can’t” was reply.. but because she couldn’t find us new table she kindly closed the door eventually for a moment and then it was opened later again so asked for blanked (which they could had offered themselves) When it was close to the other reservation time for our table I asked the check from another waitress, soon after the same rude lady came to say we need to leave so I replied that I had already asked for the check..

For the price-point being very expensive for Berlin I would had assume very pleasant service and excellent taste - which it was not Food was okay but nothing special Water 4€ for 1litre very high prices overall (especially in drinks)

Overall sense of rush transferred from staff to customers We could see many tables not served and being unhappy with that Clearly missing organization in their service we were asked three times if we had ordered - and some tables that came same time to us waited their order until we were almost finished with our food our time was 9:00 our order was taken 9:40 and food was delivered 10:00 so we had 30minutes to eat before next ones in the table They stated they were fully booked but there were empty tables...

Excellent coffee, I ordered the French toast mushroom dish which while prepared perfectly was rather dry (they should add more cheese or something to balance out the dryness of the meal for the high cost). The woman at the bar however was quite stressed and that translated to her interactions: my boyfriend has a nut allergy and she made it very clear we were a burden even though I ordered a full meal. It is hard for us to eat together but he says it felt like he was asking the world of her when he was inquiring innocently. Would be nice for him to just get a small snack or different food from another place, and be able to sit and eat with him at this restaurant without feeling criminal, like we have to do it in secret. They should be more flexible when it comes to people with life threatening allergies—otherwise how can we eat anywhere? You don’t need to close down the kitchen for him, but allow his partner (me) to order a meal and allow for him to bring...

Well, don’t know where to start first. It was a sunny perfect Saturday morning. I decided to make a reservation at this place to meet with my very best friend. So all started as I entered that place. Super unfriendly women was there at the entrance, with not hello or anything I had to figure out if she is working there or just hanging around. Finally she gave me my reserved table. We have been waiting 20 min until they get our order. There was a lot of NO! when I tried to order anything: - “this u can’t order this also no, we are very full you know, so just order something simple!” No saorry no anything I tried to order something. Waiting for drings 30 minutes, waiting for food another Hour!!! Food is absolutely not tasty even now I feel seek after thinking of it :( The interior of this place is very nice but don’t fall for it!!!!!! It is just no go! I can’t believe why people going there and let the service do...
