Miramar Chemnitz — Restaurant in Chemnitz

Two of us came without a reservation and found a seat. The staff were all very friendly. The ambience is very nice with your view of the pond. Especially in the evening when the sun sets in the west, very worth seeing. I ate a Postkutscherschnitzel, which was excellent in taste. It was served with “Spätzle” and a coleslaw. The coleslaw was also incredible. Unfortunately, the service was a bit laggy towards the end (it was just before closing time). We would still have liked a drink.

We therefore tried a second time on another evening. Also without a reservation. We found a place for 5 people. This time in the garden. The waitress was extremely friendly and had a sense of humor. We ordered beer, which was very good. Low carbonation and tasty. We all ate the Stelze, which was also excellent. Just as you would imagine a knuckle of pork in juice in Germany. Otherwise it is prepared crispy (e.g. in Austria). All in all, the food was good, the service was much more attentive and the ambience is nice. Outside, I liked the tree with the mulled watering cans.

Update: Response to the owner: The owner contacted me to ask why I only gave three stars, despite the other positive reviews. When we arrived for our first visit, it was quite late (8:30 p.m.). Fortunately, we were able to get a table without a reservation because the restaurant was very busy. After the good meal, we wanted to have more drinks. By that time, we were the only ones in the room. Perhaps there was more going on elsewhere, and we were overlooked. In any case, it seemed that way. After 20–25 minutes, we decided to pay the bill. The service was friendly, but they forgot about us. For that evening alone, I would have given two stars.

The service was excellent on the second evening when we sat outside. The waiter was constantly on the move. Before our drinks were empty, he was already asking, "Would you guys like another one?" Great! The food was good too, so I'm giving it four stars. For five stars, everything has to be perfect. Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars, but that can't be awarded. Personally, I never round up, so it's three stars. If everything is good when we visit the restaurant again, which we definitely will, I'll change the overall rating. :-)

I downgraded the atmosphere (the beer garden with a view) from a 5 to a 4, so now it's an 11 out of 15. Maybe that's more appropriate now.

Wir waren in einer größeren Runde mit einem Kleinkind gestern in Miramar essen. Restaurant war nicht überfüllt, wie oft in der Woche. Die Bedienung war super. Mein Kind war hungrig, deswegen haben wir drum geben, dass sie früher das Essen bekommt. Gewartet… gewartet… nichts kam. Der Kellner kam vorbei, um zu fragen, ob alles gut sei. Da habe ich nochmals gesagt, dass das Essen für die Kleine schön wäre (sollte Milchreis ohne Zucker sein). Sie hat ihren Teller zwei Minuten vor uns vor sich hingestellt bekommen. Sie griff sofort den Löffel und hat sich den Mund verbrannt, weil es heiß war (geht auch zum Teil auf meine Kappe, ich hätte mehr aufpassen müssen). Der Milchreis war sehr süß und hatte riesige Weintrauben drauf. Das Kind ist ein Jahr alt…Also haben alle Gäste nochmals ihr Weinen angehört, bis ich sie beruhigt habe und sie nochmals das Essen anfassen wollte. Auf die Frage, warum der Milchreis süß ist, wurde mit „Zucker war bestimmt schon drinnen“ geantwortet. Wenn Milchreis aus Tetrapack gemacht und nicht selbst gekocht wurde, warum hat es dann so lange fürs erwärmen gebraucht und so heiß war? Mir wäre es lieber davor zu erfahren, dass ohne Zucker nicht möglich ist. Und zur Info: so riesigen Weintrauben kann beim Verschlucken auch Tod für Kinder in dem Alter heißen…Die habe ich natürlich sofort rausgenommen und geschnitten… Da habe ich schon gedacht, dass wahrscheinlich niemand Kinder hat oder nicht nachdenkt, wie es ist. Aber es ging weiter: im Indoor ist ein schöner Spielraum mit einer Rutsche, von welcher aber größere Kinder im Durchgang landen. Also wenn die Gäste rein oder rausgehen, sollte man damit rechnen, dass ein Kind von der Seite vor die Füße rollt… Wickelraum war die schlimmste Kirsche auf der Torte. Die Wickelplatte war auf meiner Brusthöhe. Zum Glück habe ich ein Mädchen bei dem Junge sähe Windelwechsel wahrscheinlich nach „Pipi ins Gesicht“ aus.. Die darin aufgestellten Papierrollen ist auch was tolles fürs Kind, kann man schön rausholen und rumzupfen, hat viel Spaß gemacht, aber nicht der Mutter, die versucht hat, ihr Kind auf dem Rücken zu behalten und Windel zu wechseln. Und alles in der Höhe… Restaurant an sich ist gut, aber nicht für Babys und noch sehr kleine Kleinkinder. Bei der Einrichtung hat niemand an diese gedacht oder nicht ganz durchdacht… Wer gestern da war: es tut mir leid, wenn mein Kind die Stimmung eures Abends versaut hat. Lovely location, food is generally good, and service is consistently bad. The last time we went we asked for a specific topping to be left off of the French fry appetizer because of a food intolerance and the waitress ROLLED her EYES at us. We’ve given Miramar several chances after many instances of poor service and attitude from the waitstaff, but I think the rolling of the eyes was the last straw. People with food intolerances shouldn’t be made to feel bad - it’s not as if we can help it or as if it’s our wish to make someone’s job harder. A lot of effort goes into looking at a menu and choosing something that requires the least tweaking to eat so that neither the chef nor the waitstaff are put out.
