We had just arrived in the city and had to wait for our hotel room to be ready, so we decided to find somewhere for lunch in the meantime, and this brauhaus was about a 3 minute walk away, perfect. I went for the "lunchtime" saver menú and chose the Schnitzel "Imola" for €11.90 which also included a non-alcoholic drink, so chose a zero kölsch beer which was very nice and refreshing. The main meal was very good indeed, decent quantity and very good quality pork Schnitzel which was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tomato, mozzarella and pesto topping added some nice flavours to the dish also. The chips were light, crunchy, and in abundance, finally, the salad was marinated in a rather tasty vinigarette! All in all I was very pleased. Service was friendly and relaxed. So, if you're in the area and are stuck for where to go and fancy some German pub grub, then definitely check this place out as it's a nice traditional Brauhaus....

I had high hopes, like the Sinatra song from the Oscar nominated film "A hole in the head, circa 1959." No rubber tree plants to push over. Asked for a second Kölsch only to be told that a refill is automatic. After two I sat and waited a bit too long. Paulicarus and Boothroyd were not at all happy waiting for the food but we think the kitchen was struggling. Our food order seemed slow. Good currywurst and good Flamkuchen. A second white wine never arrived. A shame as it was a good wine but we left after a long wait for the bill. Gave a 2€ tip,...

As a tourist wanting to try some authentic German food and beer I'm glad I decided to stop here, the staff were friendly and spoke wonderful English! The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming, I ordered the currywurst and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten, I'm not sure I'll be able to really enjoy British sausages anymore. The server for my table was attentive, I wasn't waiting or waving and I wasn't without beer.
