Hankki Köln, a Korean restaurant, provided my family and me with an exceptional dining experience. The menu featured an array of tantalizing chicken dishes, eggs, fried chicken, and assorted salads that left us craving more. The food was a perfect choice for spice enthusiasts, and it truly reminded me of the flavors from back home.
The welcoming atmosphere of Hankki Köln created a warm and inviting setting for our family gathering. The attentive staff members were friendly and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Their knowledge and recommendations added to the overall experience, making us feel right at home.
The standout dish for us was the deliciously crispy fried chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked, with a mouthwatering golden crust that gave way to tender and juicy meat. It was paired wonderfully with the assortment of salads, adding refreshing and crunchy elements to the meal.
To complement our culinary adventure, we indulged in the offerings from their Korean beer selection. The Korean beer perfectly complemented the flavors of the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Read moreSo many foreign friends living in Köln recommended this Korean restaurant. So when I heard about this place like 10 times, I was like “Okay, I’m gonna give it a shot”.
I loved this place! We had Gomtang and Yangnyum boneless chicken. They were served with side dishes. I think those sides dishes’ taste and texture can be a bit stange for foreigners but for me, as Korean, it tastes good. It tastes exactly the same as I had in Korea.
I saw some reviews saying that they put too much sauce on Yangnyum chicken so they couldn’t really taste chicken. But well? This is a very Korean way. We put a lot of sauce on it and that’s the way we like. If you came to the Korean restaurant to experience a part of Korean culture, I would say ‘you should be a bit more open minded’.
All the servers were very nice. At least that’s how I felt as Korean. Maybe some of you guys wouldn’t feel the same, I assume. But that’s probably because of the different cultures.
I highly recommend this place! I’m definitely...
Read moreThis place is my monthly ritual (I used to even every fortnight before I got busy with work). I don't live in Köln mind you, so it really tells how addicted I am to their food.
Best fried chicken in the whole entire NRW area. They are so crispy but juicy at the same time. Like how??? For me it's best paired with their sweet spicy soy sauce (Ganjang).
my next favorite dishes would be their stews and japchae. Beyond the food, I also appreciate their hospitality and the plethora of side dishes.
If I walk in, I always try to come outside of the meal times on weekends cause the waitlist could be long. Additionally, sometimes it happens that you need to wait for about 40 mins to get the chicken esp. when the restaurant is crowded. I think they are working to improve this tho cause my experience now is so much improved compared to a few years before.
I really hope this place goes even bigger and that many more get to...
