The absolute flop ... Noodle Fan Komödienstr. 13 in Cologne The first impression of the premises is not quite so thrilling and should have put you off. Nevertheless, we looked for a place there. We ordered at the counter like in a snack bar. The cleanliness behind the counter and in the rooms is admirable :-( ... For a Noodle restaurant, the crew is probably all Turkish, there was no Asian or even Japanese to be seen. After ordering, the food came quite quickly, but my meal was completely wrong and I had something with chicken instead of ramen with scampi... so I returned the whole thing. After five minutes, the course arrives, with the remark that the chicken had also been added, which means that actually only the scampi were made quickly and then thrown into the bowl. All in all, I had a total of 4 FOUR scampi, which was a lot for 15.90€. The dish was called BIANG BIANG SHRIMPS RAMEN ... A delicacy? Sorry, I have rarely eaten so badly. The sauce/soup tasted more like a spoiled stale oxtail soup and the ramen noodles generally had no quality at all, neither in taste nor in appearance. An absolute disaster. I then ate the four shrimps and some noodles, the shrimps were really okay, had very probably just been quickly fried in the pan and then thrown into the strange sauce. An absolute disaster. On leaving the snack bar, I asked the Turk behind the counter what kind of delicacy he had served and told him how disgusting the whole thing was, his only apology was a sorry and big eyes ...
In conclusion, I can only say that it is not to be recommended in any way...
PS: I found out afterwards that when I returned the rest of the money, one euro was missing .... really great run.... Bon appétit to...
Read moreAbsolutely loved this hidden gem of a noodle spot! Tucked away just a short walk from the main attractions, the Cologne Dom, this place is truly underrated. The service is top-notch—friendly staff who speaks fluent English, which made ordering super easy.
We tried the Biang Biang noodles—both the regular and the spicy versions. While both were delicious, the original one stood out with a more delightful and well-rounded flavor. The spicy version wasn’t overwhelmingly hot—it had a gentle tingle that still let you enjoy the full taste of the dish.
The noodles themselves were wonderfully chewy and paired with generous portions of tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef. Every bite was satisfying and full of flavor.
The place is cozy and cute, though admittedly a bit small—probably the only downside, because everything else was on point. They also serve bubble tea, and we tried the Blue Ocean flavor. It was decent—I'd give it a 4/5—but for the price (about the same as a bottle of soda), it’s definitely worth it.
All in all, this noodle fan restaurant deserves way more hype. A solid 5/5 for the food and experience. We’ll...
Read moreI liked that there were vegan options. You order at the counter and get a beeper so you can wait at a table. We also ordered bubble ice tea, but had to pay 2 times (card&cash), I guess because the POS system of the drinks is different from the food. We chose a table in the back corner next to the stairs which didn’t feel as clean as sitting in the front, however the noise in the front was bad due to it being the end of the day after the big Pride parade at the last day of Pride. I think it would be less dirty and chaotic if we came on a regular day.
The food was ready quickly. I ordered the vegan noodles with tofu (no soup) and my partner a dish with chicken with soup. The restaurant is known for their hand pulled noodles. However we found the noodles a bit too chewy for our liking. Also the soup and the sauces were too intense in our opinion. Furthermore, we would have preferred more vegetables than just one tiny piece of pakchoy. Thankfully we ordered a side dish with wakame, kimchi...
