Pizzeria Made In Napoli — Restaurant in Cologne

One of the best Neapolitan pizzas I've ever had in Cologne was at this place. They were prompt with taking orders, and the food arrived in less than 10 minutes. However, despite the efficient service, the organization aspect left much to be desired.

I tried to reserve a table for a specific time by calling in advance, but was told that all tables were already booked for the entire day. Nevertheless, I decided to try my luck and go there anyway. To my surprise, many tables were actually unoccupied, some even for over an hour.

This issue seems to have persisted for more than a year, as older reviews also highlighted problems with reservations and excessive waiting times. Despite this, the management's response seems unchanged, merely offering an apology and a complimentary espresso or dessert on the house.

It's disappointing that these issues persist, suggesting a lack of concern for the customers. Perhaps the popularity of their delicious pizza and the limited seating in their small establishment make them indifferent to improving their service, since their place is almost always full anyway.

In this day and age, with all the technology available, it's surprising to see a small establishment struggle with something as basic as managing table reservations. Even a simple pen-and-paper system should suffice.

I went to have dinner with my partner and we didn't really enjoy it. The place was really crowded, and we took a seat in a table that was really visible to get to talk to the waiters. Even so, we tried to order more than 5 times, and every time we would be ignored, or said that we had to order to other waiter, although we could see that in many tables the waiter was even returning many times to ask details about the orders. Finally, when we had our food, it was the pizza with the least ingredients that we had ever seen. The dough was huge, but almost no ingredients. (Maybe it was because we didn't order drinks and we shared only one pizza?? I don't know!) Afterwards, we spent again very long time, and asked many questions to many waiters until they told us that we had to pay in the cash register, (when we could see that other people were paying directly at their table). Was told our pizzas would take 1.5 hours to be delivered (already ridiculous) but after 2 hours they still hadn’t arrived. Upon calling them we were only met with “they’re on the way soon” and nothing else. 30 minutes later (now at a 2.5 hour waiting time!!) they arrived with not even a sorry, reason or even acknowledgment of how late they were.

On top of that, the pizza dough was somehow simultaneously over cooked and underdone like they hadn’t even bothered to turn the pizza in the oven. Extremely oily to the point it was dripping out of the bottom of the boxes, certain toppings were clearly old and had been out all day and to top it all off the pizzas weren’t even hot.

It’s a real shame no other restaurant in ehrenfeld offers Neapolitan pizza otherwise I think these guys would be out of...
