This place is spacious and has a nice vibe. The food was just okay for me. I tried the Medaillons vom Schweinefillet, but it didn't impress me - nothing special. My wife had the chicken cordon bleu, and she found it alright. The highlight was the lovely garden at the back. However, the service was a bit slow, probably because we were seated at the last table. They mentioned a one-hour wait for the food due to full capacity, but we noticed several empty tables, so not sure if they match the size with capacity properly. The beer could be colder. We had a wonderful dinner here. It was cozy and had a wonderful atmosphere. No one there spoke perfect English, but they accommodated for us and we had no trouble ordering food and drinks. Although we had to wait a while for our food because there was 2 large groups, the food was fresh and delicious and they successfully made up for the long wait with great customer service and one extra drink. Es ist nicht hipp .... aber mega lecker! Nachdem sich unsere Lieblingsweinkneipen - Goldmund und Dags- in Ehrenfeld zu gehobener Gastronomie entwickeln (wollen), Freitags kein Platz ohne Reservierung zu haben ist und die Qualität dem Anspruch nicht wirklich gerecht wird, haben wir Freitag mal wieder dem Restaurant Pöttgen einen Besuch abgestattet. Innen ist es wirklich nicht hipp, zu dunkel, zu altmodisch .... doch ... Veränderung ist spürbar. So gibt es nun statt der dicken eingebundenen Speisekarten ein Tischset als Menü. Das auf jeden Fall macht Lust auf mehr! 😊

Kochen kann er!!!! Und neben all dem hippen Kram ist das ja wohl die Hauptsache. Freitag hatten wir echtes Wiener Schnitzel und Schweineschnitzel mit Spargel. Saftig, auf den Punkt, frisch zubereitet: lecker!!!!!

Für unsere nächsten Besuche habe ich schon einen klaren Plan, was ich (mal wieder) ausprobieren möchte: Ceaser Salat (nur hier wie das Original) bretonische Fischsuppe Speckpfannkuchen Pasta mit Gambas Käsespätzle Und zum Schluss ein Löffelchen Dessert 😊 Kochen kann der Chef nämlich richtig richtig gut und der Service und freundlich und aufmerksam 👍

Die Preise sind angemessen, die Portionen -auch die für den kleinen Hunger- völlig ausreichend.

Und wenn es dann bald wieder wärmer ist, dann können wir all das im schönen Biergarten genießen. Da stellt sich die Frage nach dem "hipp" nämlich nicht 😊 Klare...
