Restaurant Lengeling & Bialy — Restaurant in Cologne

Das "Lengeling & Bialy" ist ein klassisches Restaurant im besten Sinne. Andreas Lengeling in der Küche ist ein Routinier, der die Standards ebenso beherrscht wie kreative Abwandlungen und spannende neue Kombinationen. Die Karte wechselt wöchentlich, wobei auch mal einige Gerichte länger bleiben. Der Vorteil der kleinen Karte ist, dass immer frisch, regional und saisonal gekocht wird. Das Wild kommt aus der Eifel, die Martinsgans aus dem Bergischen und die Kartoffeln von Kartoffelkult aus Rommerskirchen. Generell verwendet die Küche ausnahmslos hochwertige Zutaten (etwa schottischen Glen Douglas Lachs).

Stefan Bialy ist der ebenso zuvorkommende wie diskrete Gastgeber in diesem kleinen Wohnzimmer-Restaurant. Man fühlt sich dementsprechend auch eher wie zu Besuch bei guten Freunden und nicht wie in der Gastronomie. So unscheinbar das Restaurant von außen auch ist - innen sorgt ein stilvolles Ambiente für ein durchaus gehobenes aber nicht abgehobenes Flair. Dabei balancieren die sympathischen Inhaber zuweilen gekonnt auf dem schmalen Grat zwischen Kitsch und Coolness.

Die Weinkarte ist gut sortiert und fair bepreist und bietet auch im glasweisen Ausschank mehr als nur Standardware.

All das gibt es natürlich nicht zum Fastfood-Preis. Wer aber einen Sinn für gehobene Gastronomie hat und Essengehen als Highlight und nicht bloße Nahrungsaufnahme zelebriert, bekommt bei "Lengeling & Bialy" eine im besten Wortsinn...

Not a cheap choice. Having said that, rest is excellent! Fabulous atmosphere, fast and most polite service, excellent taste. The selection is not large but this helps to achieve best taste to every one of the plates. The dessert is a must! Very good option to have excellent wine by the glass. Only one small complaint, given the price level I wish they would accept credit cards from foreign banks, not...

what a find! Lengeling & Bialy. An intimate ,and very stylish restaurant, tucked away in a leafy residential area. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, as is the decor, the food is locally sourced, and the menu is frequently varied. Service exceptional as is the food! I can highly recommend this...
