San Calogero — Restaurant in Cologne

Great little Italian place, slightly off the beaten track, making it less touristy and more authentic. Handy for a meal after a trip to the zoo or the botanical gardens, as it's about a 20 minute walk from those. We went on a Sunday lunchtime. It wasn't busy; maybe 5 or 6 other sets of diners. We'd booked through Google and our table was sat waiting for us when we arrived. Having used enough German over the past few days, I decided to switch to Italian to order our pizzas, and the waiter was happy to accommodate the few changes my kids wanted. Before we knew it, fresh, warm dough balls came out (we hadn't ordered them, but they bring them anyway!) along with garlic butter. Delicious! Then came the pizzas, which were excellent, very well priced (all around 10-13 euros), with stacks of toppings and a very authentic thin crispy base. The pizzas are a very good size. We could've got away with probably 4 pizzas between the 5 of us, to avoid any waste. We were too full for dessert, but there wasn't a huge amount of choice, which is fairly standard for Italian restaurants. All in all, highly recommended, in a nice quiet spot away...

San Galogero in Köln ist ein charmantes Lokal, das ich am vergangenen Sonntag zum Mittagessen besucht habe. Als großer Fan von italienischem Essen war ich gespannt auf die angebotenen Speisen und wurde größtenteils nicht enttäuscht.

Die Pizza, die ich bestellt habe, war wirklich köstlich. Der Teig war schön knusprig und nicht zu dünn, der Belag reichhaltig und die Kombination der Zutaten einfach perfekt. Ich habe jede einzelne Biss genossen und war wirklich zufrieden mit meiner Wahl.

Leider kann ich das Gleiche nicht über die Lasagne sagen, die meine Begleiterin bestellt hat. Sie war nicht besonders geschmackvoll. Schade, denn ich hatte mir mehr erwartet.

Die Bedienung im San Galogero war sehr bemüht und freundlich. Sie hat sich Zeit genommen, um unsere Fragen zu beantworten und hat uns auch einige Empfehlungen gegeben. Wir fühlten uns gut aufgehoben und der Service war insgesamt zufriedenstellend.

Besonders erwähnenswert ist die schöne Terrasse des Lokals. An einem sonnigen Tag wie diesem konnten wir das Essen im Freien genießen und die angenehme Atmosphäre auf uns wirken lassen. Es war wirklich ein Highlight und hat unseren Besuch noch angenehmer gemacht.

Ein weiterer Pluspunkt sind die Preise im San Galogero. Sie sind wirklich fair und erinnern mich an die guten alten Zeiten vor 15 Jahren. Für die Qualität der Speisen und den Service, den man hier erhält, sind die Preise mehr als angemessen.

Insgesamt hatte ich eine positive Erfahrung im San Galogero. Die Pizza war ausgezeichnet, die Bedienung aufmerksam und die Terrasse wunderschön. Lediglich die Lasagne war etwas enttäuschend. Dennoch kann ich das Lokal gerne weiterempfehlen, vor allem wenn man auf der Suche nach guten Preisen und einer gemütlichen...
