Hitchcoq - Nashville Chicken & Beer — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

This place i will give it the following rating categories:

1- Food: 3.5 stars 2- Service: 4.5 stars 3- atmosphere: 2 stars 4- price: 3 stars 5- likely to visit again: 40%

The food: If you like American food in terms of chicken and that famous fast heavy food experience, this is the place for you. They are actually good at what they do, really tasty fat chicken tenders and fries. The sauces are also a great mix they have. This is if you like that American experience. As for if you want to taste from scratch made burger or uniquely tasting experience, then Hitchcoq isn't that for you. It's not something I'd personally miss or wanna go to anytime soon. On top of that, price-wise it was a little on the high side, just a little.

2- Service: we had a wonderful lady servicing us with a friendly attitude, nice enough to speak English so my brothers could understand. We ordered 2 cola zeros, and she mistakenly brought normal. Without us saying anything she realized and insisted to bring us what we wanted, despite bother bottles were already open. The place was full, yet didn't take forever. All that with two people servicing the customers.

3- Atmosphere: The only reason for this, is due to the fact that there was a table of 5, with a man heavily drunk and loud. Not considering anyone around them, hitting the tables at open point shouting "Shots, Shots, Shots" i found it very inconsiderate. I get people want yo enjoy themselves with friends and family, but this isn't a bar. What was unfortunate is that no one said anything, the waiters just walked by them.

All in all it was a fine experience, everyone can enjoy this food if it's for you. For me, it's one of those places where I'd love to try...

When my guest and I arrived at Hitchcoq for lunch, we were surprised to find that the restaurant was relatively empty. However, the person who greeted us was quite rude when asking us about a reservation, and we were made to wait while they pretended to check the reservation list. This behavior was a bit disappointing and could have been avoided with better communication.

Once we were seated, we had the opportunity to look at the menu and found a good selection of dishes. The food was cooked to perfect, and we particularly enjoyed.

Unfortunately, the poor service we received at the beginning of our visit cast a shadow over the rest of our experience at Hitchcoq.

Overall, Hitchcoq has some good dishes, but the service could use some improvement. it's worth a try, but don't expect a...

Positives

Leckeres Hähnchen: Das Hauptgericht – die Chicken Wings – war geschmacklich wirklich gut und saftig zubereitet. Und prima scharf (für mich)

Gutes Bier: Auch das Bier war kalt, frisch und hat uns gut geschmeckt.

Negatives

Eingeschränkte Zahlungsmöglichkeiten: Bei unserem Besuch war leider nur Barzahlung möglich – Kartenzahlung wurde an diesem Tag nicht akzeptiert. In Zeiten, in denen Kartenzahlung nahezu überall Standard ist, empfanden wir dies als unpraktisch.

Umständliches Bestellkonzept: Bestellt werden muss für den gesamten Tisch über ein Smartphone, und zwar nur von einer Person. Das heißt, eine Person am Tisch übernimmt die komplette Bestellung digital per Handy für alle. Das Konzept ist in der Praxis sehr unflexibel: Sollte diese Person den Tisch vorzeitig verlassen müssen, wäre die Bestellung für alle anderen problematisch. Insgesamt empfanden wir diese Vorgehensweise als unnötig kompliziert und kundenunfreundlich.

Unübersichtliche Speisekarten: Die Speisekarte für das Essen lag zwar ausgedruckt am Tisch, jedoch gab es die Getränkekarte nur digital per Handy. Dieses hybride System fanden wir verwirrend – warum liegt die Essenskarte gedruckt bereit, während man für die Getränke zwangsläufig das Smartphone zücken muss?

Lange Wartezeit trotz Selbstbestellung: Obwohl wir unsere Bestellung selbst aufgegeben haben, mussten wir (5 Personen) fast 45 Minuten auf das Essen warten. Die Getränke wurden zwar zügig serviert, aber die Küche hat sehr lange gebraucht. Für ein Restaurant, in dem man als Gast einen Teil des Bestellprozesses selbst übernehmen muss, hätten wir eine schnellere Essensausgabe erwartet.

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis: Das Essen war zwar schmackhaft, wir empfanden die Preise jedoch als etwas zu hoch für das Gebotene. Gerade im Vergleich zu ähnlichen Lokalen schien uns das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht optimal.

Fazit

Das Bier und das Essen im Hitchcoq waren gut, allerdings überwiegen für uns die negativen Aspekte des Konzepts. Vor allem die kundenunfreundliche Bestellmethode per Handy hat unseren Besuch getrübt. Ohne dieses Bestellkonzept würden wir dem Restaurant vielleicht noch eine Chance geben, doch so sehen wir keinen Grund für eine Wiederkehr. Ähnlich gute Chicken Wings und andere Hähnchengerichte bekommt man auch anderswo – und dort muss man nicht noch die Arbeit des Servicepersonals...
