Got the first meal on the lunch menu, the popular Hanoi breakfast/lunch. It came out so quick that the first bites confirmed our suspicion that it was cooked a while ago. The rice was sticky and lacking fluff & moisture. That would've been ok if the flavors wouldn't have been so dull. It was packing flavor and spices so much to the point that it tasted like a side of rice to me. I'd take this item off the menu or flavor it up. It clearly needs at least some fish sauce and a hint of spice, otherwise you feel like eating just a big bowl of fried rice. Most underwhelming meal I've had in a while eating out. Portion size of the summer rolls is also too small. I know in Vietnam they're smaller but I haven't had them that small over there. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing on the menu... Read moreWe visited HS twice and it was fantastic...one thing i have to say is that if people from any country know how to cook beef...undoubtedly it the vietnamese people...also the crispy duck....the interior is very nicely designed and groomed...almost to give you a high class dining experience...service is quite fast and friendly....only i reckon the space management can be improved a litte bit in the middle...but with food simply awesome....we have tried the irish check stewed in Hanoi style, crispy duck in curry sauce but I would like to recommend no. 42. Its the mined beef with 5 spice rolled in lolot leaves....the beef was perfectly tender and super flavoursome...but surprisingly very light and not over spiced...one thing I would like to add is that the menu is very well priced for the you...

We ordered a Beef Pho each, and then some spring rolls to share. Glad they offer small and large portions and we all went for the small one as we had a late lunch and were not too hungry. Hot soup is always comforting on a cold night but this wasn't exceptional for me.
The spring rolls were so so only too. The crispy one (with crab meat) was a little oily and over-fried while the fresh one seemed authentic (seem because I...
