Pizzeria Pesto da Fabio — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

More than 1.5 years of weekly Pizzeria Pesto visits have taught me a lot. "PP", the way we call Pizzeria Pesto in my flat, simply delivers great Italian food consistently. Although I am addicted to Pizza Napoli (capers, olives, anchovies) and rarely eat anything else, I still know their caprese salad, a few other pizzas, the tagliatelle w/ salmon, Insalata Mista and most noticeably, Düsseldorf's leading Tiramisu. Anyone who has read my review on Le Bontà del Capo at Italy's famous Amalfi coast knows that I am an expert in Tiramisu evaluations and therefore make only valid claims regarding the world's best dessert. But we don't want to drift apart, we just want to acknowledge culinary greatness. I highly appreciate PP to be so close to my home, to make me feel like it's the weekend already when getting my Napoli and a still water on a Thursday night or having a glass of Lugana w/ my closest friends. Very cozy small pizzeria with good variety of options. Had a Italian beer (Peroni), caprese and funghi pizza, both were very well made and tasty. The waiter was kind and nice to us, very funny and friendly. We had four beers (two for each person) total and two pizzas the total amount was around 14 € for each. Pizzas are priced around 9 - 10 euros, excellent price considering quality, size and flavor they offer (they are really great).

As every place in Düsseldorf, I recommend make reservations, we got very early (Friday around 19:30) and we had to wait around 20 minutes outside.

Fast hätten wir das Restaurant mit Google Maps nicht gefunden, ein Glück haben wir am Ende doch dorthin gefunden. Zuerst erwartet man von außen nicht viel, ein winzig kleiner Raum mit Bar und ca 5 Tischen, erinnert dieses Restaurant eher an ein Bistro. Was einem aber darin geboten wird, übertrifft bei weitem jede italienische Erfahrung die ich bisher machen durfte. Die Karte ist überschaubar, aber es gibt keine Probleme sich etwas leckeres auszusuchen, auch eine kleine vegetarische Auswahl ist vorhanden, sowie ein Tagesmenü . Nach einem kurzen Moment fühlt man sich in dem etwas gedrängten Ambiente doch wohl und entdeckt den ganz eigenen italienischen Charme von Innen. Die Kellnerin war an Freundlichkeit nicht zu überbieten. Recht zügig konnten wir Getränke und Essen bestellen. Aufs Haus bekamen wir kleine ,ofenwarme Pizzabällchen mit Olivenöl zum Dippen, außerdem gab es am Tisch 2 verschiedene selbstgemachte Öle (Knoblauch & Chili) zum verfeinern der Speisen, welche dann auch schnell kamen. Ich hatte eine Pizza Caprese, geschmacklich war diese wie man eine Caprese erwartet, aber ganz positiv möchte ich hier den umwerfenden Pizzateig erwähnen. Eindeutig der beste den ich jemals hatte. Auch meine 3 Kollegen waren alle begeistert von ihren Pizzen und sehr zufrieden als wir das Restaurant verließen, denn für die Qualität der Speisen sind die Preise wirklich günstig.
