Very bad experience in my 4 night stay.
VERY BAD: Room with holes in the wall found an entire pizza box with rests from the previous guest. the shower head was very dirty and moldy (see pics) I needed to change my room twice (so I was in three rooms) due the poor conditions, even when my company booked a double comfort room.
BAD: Very dirty walls. in one of the “comfort rooms” I didn’t have closet, it was just a hanger right on top of the weird coffee machine station (see pics). every day my KEY room decided to not work, so I went down to reception many times as they seem to reconnect it but it never works. The trick I found out after 4 nights: try and try and after 15/20 times it works. No need to go down. Very thin walls so you hear everything and will wake up from other people coming in/out their rooms. In the paid breakfast you don’t get water, that’s extra paid!
OK-ISH: the water pressure of the showers are very low. the hot water in the showers takes a lot to start, like 5-8 minutes. below the mattress you may find rests of bread or food (I checked because I read a previous guest found bed bugs) the breakfast is very sad: coffee, tee, boiled eggs, some cheese and ham, Nutella, Kellogg and milk, croissant and toasts… may look not bad but everyday the same sad shit is meh the reception personnel blames everything to the cleaning people (even the holes on the wall lol). 0 responsibility.
So bad it gets even funny: in the second room after I shower I could read a hidden message on the bathroom mirror from a previous guest. Could not understand it because it was in another language but I left another message in English advising people to go as soon as possible 😅! (How long those mirrors were not clean? Questions over questions)
The third room they gave me was ok. Very big and somehow clean (I was not disgusted in the bathroom). But they let me know I was in a very upgraded room (so it was more than the double comfort room my company booked) … so only top notch rooms are somehow ok?
Write down: room 305 is horrible with holes, room 312 has no closet and disgusting shower, room...
Read moreI spent a weekend in this hotel with my daughter. ||We arrived far too early to check-in but the receptionist was very accommodating. He took our bags and offered us the use of the rest room, etc. before giving us directions to the Christmas Markets - which were a 10 minute walk away.|We arrived back in time to check in. The check-in was quick and easy. The room was quite large with two very comfortable single beds. It was quiet and lighting was easily controlled - offering different levels on each side of the room if required. ||I woke at approx. 5 a.m. and, not wanting to disturb my daughter, I went downstairs. The night manager was pleasant and accommodating. He even made me a hot chocolate when I asked for it. It was delicious - very tasty and just what I needed to send me back into a restful sleep.||We didn't have breakfast at the hotel. Check-out was easy and very fast. We left our bags there while we went off for the day. The Receptionist was friendly and very helpful. He also spoke excellent English - having spent 3 years in Belfast. ||We didn't use the bar but it didn't appear to be very well stocked. I didn't notice anybody drinking there. It would not be a feature of the hotel, in my opinion. ||4 Star rating differs from country to country, region to region. I wouldn't class it as a four star hotel - but the prices reflect this. It is a very comfortable, central hotel - with very helpful, pleasant and accommodating staff. The beds are clean, comfortable and the room spacious. The bathroom has a shower over bath - and there was hot water every time I showered. It was very clean. The toiletries came in big refillable bottles on the walls (one was empty !!) - definitely not 4 Star. Also - there was no mini bar in the room. ||Overall - a clean, friendly hotel - very central and a short walk to the Old Town. I would definitely stay...
Read moreBest hotel experience! The staff were so helpful and friendly and every one of them went beyond expectations to give us a great time. Even details such as an explanation of the art used in the hotel itself, I was given a bit of a history tour of the city! And it turns out our room has a fantastic glowing painting of a city scene over the bed. I've been in countless hotels but I've never had a glowing painting! ||Our room (120) was an upgrade so it was pretty big for German standards. The view was the apartment building across the street, but it was so QUIET. We were in the loud part of town and we heard nothing at night. I love the fact that we can open all the windows (we had 4!). If you have children, they will fall out. That's Germany.||When I woke up this morning I realized their hotel bed is more comfortable than my own. ||I love a hotel that has free-hanging clothes hangers (not attached like we're criminals), and this hotel offers a tiny fridge to keep your drinks cool. Not cold, just cool, which is better than warm.||There was not one, but TWO chairs to sit at the desk or use to watch TV if you prefer to sit in something other than the bed. This is rare, and we appreciated it. ||There was one problem with this hotel on our stay. The hot water heater malfunctioned and no one in the building had any hot water. It would have been nice to be able to take a shower, but we couldn't.||However, the staff made it up to us. They offered us the breakfast buffet for free, and a couple of drinks out of the cooler. The breakfast in this hotel is not one of the best, but it's adequate. No scrambled eggs or bacon, but hard boiled eggs and cold cuts and cheese. The cheese was really good. There was juice and mint/lemon water which we enjoyed. Someone invented a Nutella Dispensing Maschine and there it was. ||Don't forget to turn on the glowing art on the wall...
