Gasthaus & Hotel zum ERDINGER Weißbräu Erding — Restaurant in Erding

We booked this restaurant for our last meal after a wonderful 2 week long trip through Germany and Austria, but unfortunately it was our most terrible experience. Food was average, but it was the worst service I have ever received. We were waited on by Silvia, who was extremely hostile and passive aggressive. To give you one of many examples, we ordered three waters and were only brought two. We asked the person bringing the water (who was not our server) to please bring one more, and they obliged. A few moments later, our server stormed over to the table and argued with us that we had only ordered two when we had in fact ordered three. Another example: we waited over an hour for the bill because our server kept intentionally ignoring us. She would ignore our flags initially, then when we had to physically approach her, she would tell us she was too busy with other things. She then traveled to every other table in the room except ours. Despite other reminders and requests for service, she effectively "ghosted" us and would not come to the table. We are always polite and courteous diners and give waitstaff the benefit of the doubt but this was the first time in my life I gave no tip at all (even though I know it's not necessarily customary to tip in the area). Planned to stay at this hotel to be close to the airport and re-fueling service for rental car. Location was very convenient for both purposes, But, we requested an additional night and were pleased they could accommodate us. We found Ramona and Katherine on the front desk to be most helpful in all aspects of reservations and providing advice on local services we were looking for! We found our room spacious and clean with a large bathroom. The cleaning staff did an excellent job daily on the room. We ate in the restaurant several time sampling the authentic Bavarian fare. Without exception, the service was prompt, the food was well-prepared and promptly served, and the beer was excellent! Portions were large! We also ate breakfast daily in the hotel dining room- plenty of hot and cold selections including meats, eggs, cheeses and fruits and vegetables plus much more! My husband and I stayed here as the last stop on our honeymoon, and when we left to come back to America we realized we’d forgotten his water bottle in the room. The front desk was closed though, so we emailed and asked if they would be willing to mail it to us if we paid for shipping. They agreed and we just got the package today, complete with the sweetest note and little packs of gummy bears (the same that we remember being in our room)! Of all the hotels we stayed in across France & Germany, this one has to be the most memorable. They truly care about their travelers, the food & drinks in the restaurant were our favorite in all of Erding, and they included special touches for our honeymoon like putting rose petals & chocolates at our room.
