Bab & Bab Bistro — Restaurant in Erfurt

Food: for Vorspeise we ordered Hühnerspiesse and it’s very tasty. 🤤 We also ordered the Namul Dolsot-Bibimbap and Dakgangjeong, we have nothing to say since we didn’t left any single meal in the plate. Everything‘s tasty and the prices are extremely good.

Service: We make a reservation at 17:30 and the food was served at 18:02 which is a little bit longer as the other neighbouring korean restaurant that we only waited for 10mins for the food. But it’s okay, it’s still worth the wait.

Atmosphere: A like the ambiance of the interior, simple and relaxing. Not a lots of table which is nice because they can accommodate all the incoming customers without disturbing the other customers.

Ich muss auf Englisch erklären. It's great that Erfurt has a Korean restaurant and I will continue to go back. However, as my experience has shown me I am no stranger to Korean food and have had it on both sides of the Atlantic. I would like it if they would not hold back on their own spices for the sake of the German tongue/or palette. At least that's what I think when eating one of their popular dishes like Dolsot bi-bim bap. It's pretty bland even when compared to what's offered in Weimar. Otherwise quality is nice and the staff is very friendly. I wish you guys the best of luck in your continued business! ...

Nach mehrmaligem Besuch kann ich sagen, dass "seltsam" das Wort ist, dass das Restaurant am besten beschreibt. Vornweg, das Essen ist ganz okay, aber nicht herausragend. Das Rundherum ist was stört: Das Ambiente des Gastraums erinnert an einen 90er Jahre Bäcker, es ist beklemmende Stimmung da keine Musik läuft. Die Karte ist winzig und so wenig sagend aufgebaut, dass der Inhaber jedes mal eine Erklärung zur Karte abgeben muss. Das traditionelle Gericht Bibimbap steht zwei mal groß an der Tafel - man braucht lange um heraus zu finden, dass das Gericht exakt das gleiche ist, nur in unterschiedlichen Behältnissen serviert. Im Steintopf kostet einen Euro extra, obwohl das doch die originale Art ist, Bibimbap zu servieren - es ist ansonsten einfach das gleiche Essen - unverständlicher Preisaufschlag. Dazu sollte es mittags ja eigentlich schnell gehen. Trotz Mittagsgericht - Fehlanzeige, wir mussten 40 Minuten auf das einfache Bibimbap warten obwohl der Laden nicht wirklich voll war. Die Kellnerin blieb dann neben uns stehen, gab uns Anweisungen wie das Essen umzurühren ist und verließ erst den Tisch wieder, nachdem wir unser Essen so umgerührt hatten wie sie es wollte. Zu guter letzt - keine Kartenzahlung möglich. Das ist auch nicht zeitgemäß. Ich denke viele Leute verlassen den Laden mit einem komischen Gefühl und denken sich "es ist halt eine andere Kultur" - aber das müsste nicht sein. Koreanische Restaurants müssen nicht...
