Coffini Cafe-Bar / Erlangen — Restaurant in Erlangen

Whenever I go, I go for the location and the cakes, both of which are good. The service, however, is miserable. The place is run by what seems to be students, who are not gastronoms at heart but, well, unorganized students. So far I have accepted that. Yesterday I changed my mind: I will not accept rude behavior. As I sat down the waiter slammed down a dirty ashtray on my table, which I asked her to remove. She denied this because the ashtray was mandatory table equipment and there to hold down the menu. "But the ashtray is dirty. At least bring me a clean one!" I said. "No," she replied "at this time of day they are all like that. It is just ash, one can't get rid of it." She left me speechless. I removed the ashtray to the next empty table. She came back like a fury, tore the menu away from my table and yelled "Then I must take away the menu from you, too. It is not safe on your table without the ashtray!". I am...

Their menu offerings are good, with a good location. I would go more often if there was music playing inside instead of silence, and if there weren't always men seated in the front staring at everyone who walks into the cafe and places an order. They have been there, and stared at me, all 4 times that I've visited the cafe. Once, they were having a conversation so loudly that I could hear it from the other side of the cafe, so I left early, because I didn't want to hear...

The cafe closes at 20:00. We came in (a couple) around 19:10. Barista, who was sitting outside with a colleague, came in after us, saying, that he won't offer us coffe and it's closed. We looked at the clock at the wall, surprised, and asked why, just to hear, that he already cleaned the coffee machine because there were no clients....
