My recent dining experience at the African Queen restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. This hidden gem offers a delightful array of Eritrean cuisine that left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, creating a cozy setting that complements the richness of the dishes. The ambiance is a perfect blend of authenticity and comfort, making it an ideal place for a relaxed dining experience.

One of the standout features was the reasonable pricing. Despite the high quality of the food, the menu offered a range of options that won't break the bank. This affordability added to the overall appeal of the restaurant.

The staff at African Queen truly went above and beyond to make the dining experience memorable. Their outstanding service, coupled with a genuine friendliness, created a welcoming environment. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu, providing helpful recommendations that enhanced the overall dining experience.

The flavor of the dishes was truly remarkable. Each bite was a journey through the rich and diverse tastes of Eritrean cuisine. From savory stews to aromatic spices, every dish was a celebration of flavors that left a lasting impression.

Moreover, the restaurant offers excellent vegetarian options, showcasing a commitment to inclusivity and catering to a variety of dietary preferences.

In conclusion, the African Queen restaurant is a culinary gem that offers delicious Eritrean food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff is outstanding, and the flavors of the dishes are truly exceptional. Whether you're a fan of Eritrean cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, this restaurant is...

Terrible service, food was meh. We ordered a delivery from African Queen through their website. They charged the card right away, then cancelled the order without any explanation 1 minute later. We called to ask why, they explained their driver was sick, so they were doing no deliveries that day, but still charging customers for it knowingly of this problem. They claimed the money would be refunded automatically in a few minutes. It wasn't. We called again the following day to request our money back: different person, didn't know about the case, days she'd work on it and get back to us. No money, no feedback. One week later we had to go there in person to request our money a third time: they acted again like they didn't know what we're taking about (really? they know they were doing no deliveries that day and their website was still charging people), man that talked with us took 15 minutes on his computer just to say money will arrive in 5 days!!! (let's see if it happens, they've lied about it twice already).

This was not our only mistake, after their website cancelled the order we ordered through Lieferando: had to wait 1 hour and a half to get a lukewarm dish with hard, chewy beef.

Terrible service charging us for a delivery they know they wouldn't do, taking ages to return our money, taking 1 hour and a half to deliver... and then cold and hard food. Never again, avoid...

A family own traditional restaurant , unique in what it offers , a genuine Etheupian couisine. With lots and lots of Spices for your taste buds. The average cost is around 20 to 30€ per person. The staff are all Etheupians , and the owner of the restaurant runs it herself. Very thematic too with the music and the decorations , the choice of drinks offered and even the dishes , attention to detail in that matter is impressive. Pretty worth more than what you'll pay trying it. A reservation is really advised , it can fill up really quickly. Finding a parking spot is pretty tricky but it is less than 10 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof ( Frankfurt Main train station ). It suits , couples , friends but not families with children , the food is a bit too spicy for them and there isn't much choice that suits the kids. Most of the tables are meant for 4 people , one table can accommodate 8 but you do really need to make a reservation before hand to get it.

Time spent is between 40 min to 1 hour. Food usually arrives less than 15 minutes. The staff are extremely friendly...

We hadn't tried any African food so when we found this place it instantly caught our attention. The place is family run and the owner goes and greets everyone there. She also took out order. When we areived we were asked if we had reservation (we didn't ), but we were seated on condition that after one hour we are done. No problem for us! Place is quite (nice background music is playing) people are quite so it was nice. It's quite dark here but that just gives to atmosphere. We ordered traditional Eritrean dish which was called African Queen Plate - it is shared between people and is eaten with hands (optional for is provided). It includes vegetarian foods and meat, spicy and not spicy. As option extra spices are give they are HOT, even the least spicy one. I took Eritrean beer made from different grain than regular beer, it was tasty and didn't have any bitter aftertaste. I would buy it again if I had a chance. Overall really good experience. My colleague said 8.2 out of 10.

My experience at African Queen was outstanding from start to finish. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with thoughtful decor that complemented the dining experience. Every detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the table settings and pacing of courses, contributed to a cohesive and enjoyable meal. The food itself was delicious, with well-balanced flavors and generous portions. The coffee at the end was delicious, providing a nice finishing touch to the meal. Overall, a memorable visit that I would gladly recommend to others looking for a high-quality African dining experience.
