Anglo Irish — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Irish lad at the bar wasn't particularly friendly, made me feel a bit stupid for asking if he spoke English... in a foreign country I feel it's polite to ask somebody first before speaking in English, even if you're in an Irish pub there might be staff that only speak German. Honestly I felt like a bit of an inconvenience ordering my drinks, he seemed fed up judging by the tone he used with me and the fact he didn't smile. However, the pub itself is nice. It is like a classic Irish/English pub, lots of good options to drink, lively atmosphere with outdoor seating and football streaming. Female toilets were clean and nice. Some people complain about the smoking, yes it did smell but it was actually nice to be able to vape indoors, a luxury I haven't seen in the UK, if you don't like it there are other pubs around. There was a German bartender who was very friendly, and I was happy overall with my experience here. Not sure I'd come back though, lots of Irish pubs in the area with friendlier staff. It's Old Sachs and heck I like this place. If you are into any islander sport ( meaning the british isles) they have you covered ( I remember watching Ireland's surprise victory again the All Blacks there). Other than that it is great Irish Pub with really sweat staff that always stays friendly even in sight the havoc of a weekend in Old Sachs can bring with it. For those who care you can smoke inside, but the outside usually is more interesting and they have you covered with benches and tables there. If you don't fancy a Stout you can also have Hessian Beer or plenty of other drinks. On weekends this place is packed as almost all of Old Sachs is, but the queing time still is rather short. Nice pub with good selection of Drinks . Guinness tasted OK and the pub had a pleasant atmosphere . The pub even had some irish barstaff unlike other Irish pubs in Frankfurt . As a non smoker though I didn't like the fact punters were allowed smoke inside . Wouldn't happen in Ireland .
