Food and price deserve five stars, I got the bratwursten with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. It was really good and the prices were very fair, being also so close to the city center. I took away a star because while the waitress who served me was really nice, her "more experienced" collegue was incredibly rude. I went to pay and she was all smiles, when it was time to type the final amount in the pos terminal she asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I asked her around how much was normal to give here since I've been traveling a lot and everywhere has different amounts. I usually get a polite and fair response. She just kept asking how nuch I wanted to give. I thought she just didn't understand my question so I explained that we don't tip where I'm from so I didn't know how much was fair and that's why I was asking her. She just went "oh, so nothing. Okay" and put in the original amount before I could say anything. I thought okay whatever so said thank you getting back my card and then again thank you and goodbye. She didn't even answer me, just muttered something and turned away. If that's how you treat a client just because they didn't tip you (and I wanted to because everything was so good) then I'm glad I did not tip you. Sorry for your nice collegues though. Again, food very good!

I had a layover of 9 hrs so with limited time I had to make the most of my trip. Got into town at 9am and the place was dead. This place opened at 11:30 am so I made sure I walked around and saw most of the historic district by then. The place opened and I was the first one there. The vibe and ambience is very German and old school with old wooden seating that fills the massive high ceiling rooms. I ordered the apple wine since it’s locally made. Wasn’t a fan of it but didn’t hate it either. I ordered the pork schnitzel with green sauce for my meal. Absolutely mind blowing. The green sauce was so delicious and the schnitzel was perfectly cooked, very fresh. What an awesome meal for my short time in Frankfurt. Hostess was cute and friendly. If u r ever in town, head here for an awesome meal. Danke. 🇩🇪

A really good Apfelweinlokal with an extensive selection of regional classic dishes. They have a large, but cozy indoor area with lots of seating. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and spoke English. We weren’t sure how much apfelwein we would drink so started out with a 4er Bembel. For dinner starter, we tried Handkäse with Musik. Then had Frankfurter style Schnitzel with Grüne Soße and roasted potatoes, Grilled Bacon Chop with Spätzle and salad. All was generous portions for a fair price. The apfelwein was so smooth, we ordered another 4er! Before the kitchen closed, we got some Apple strudel to-go for our breakfast in the morning! The tables were full of boisterous groups, making it clear this is a place the locals enjoy!

I've decided to have my lunch there and wanted to give it a try. You will see a sign at the entrance, saying please wait. There was a group in front of me, they haven't waited so long however when it was my turn they kept ignoring me for some reason(my guess is because i was alone; means less income for them). After waiting around 10 mins they finally decided me to have a seat and ironicaly they came to ask what i want so quick. I didn't like their behaviors and decided only to have a drink. Because they gave me the shittiest table which was like 30 degrees under the sun(this part is acceptable because i had no reservation) i tried to call them idk how many times to ask if its possible to change the table, they kept ignoring me until i got a sunburn. At the end i managed to sit somewhere else then realised you actually don't have to have a rezervation in order to sit some tables there, they said no to me because only 1 person is no customer for them apparently. As long as i finished my drink, the lady which she kept ignoring me with a fake smile suddenly ended up my table asking if o want another drink. I said "ich überlege" then she immediately left with a very rude behaviour saying some cursing words in german. Don't ever come here as a 1 person if you want to be...

I've lived in Frankfurt a couple years now and this is my go-to for taking visitors. Maybe there are better options, but so far I've never had a bad experience here so i see no reason to shake it up :)

The restaurant is SO much larger than you would expect when you first walk in.. and in the warmer months there is also a large outdoor seating area.

They have no issues with English speakers (always hit or miss elsewhere) and have a huge selection on their menu. The prob sizes are also fairly large! I'm a picky eater and they have been great about making small adjustments to the offered meals for me.

They also go above and beyond to help visitors pick the best meal for them. My last visit, my friends ordered, but asked a couple questions about the items, which led the waitress to suggest something they hadn't seen which was exactly the type of meal they were looking for.

The prices have gone up a little due to Germany upping the tax on food.. and inflation in general... But given the location its still a really...
