Restaurant Sapo Rey — Restaurant in Frankfurt

This is definitely the last time I come to this place... I've said that already some time ago, but after watching the new Disney movie "Encanto", I decided to give this place a last chance and have a bit of a nice Colombian feeling.

First of all, the staff couldn't care less about us. The women there were super cold and kind of rude. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for an arepa con pollo and a chorizo, which to top it all were just BADDDD!.... I'm here attaching a picture of the chorizo for which I paid almost 7 EUR... BTW, the arepa tasted like it was rotten (Although I really hope I don't get food poisoned... So for the moment I will just say that the quality was bad :P)

Ah... The 4 EUR empanadas were just pure fat.

It's a pity because Colombian food is so delicious. This place definitely is not a testimony of that.

For what is worth, I learned the lesson this time, and as said:...

Früher war ich oft mit meiner Freundin in diesem Restaurant und es war immer in Ordnung. Doch beim letzten Besuch am 01.04.2024 war es wirklich ein Desaster - angefangen vom Service bis hin zum Essen. Die Empanadas wurden ohne Aji serviert, und obwohl wir das dem Personal mitgeteilt haben, mussten wir immer noch lange warten, bis es endlich serviert wurde. Die Picada enthielt nur Schweinefleisch, obwohl auf der Speisekarte stand, dass auch Rindfleisch enthalten sein sollte. Als wir höflich nachfragten, warum kein Rindfleisch enthalten war, behauptete der Kellner, dass eine kolumbianische Picada kein Rindfleisch enthalten würde und dass die Speisekarte falsch sei. Dann richtete er sich an meine kolumbianische Freundin und meinte, sie müsse doch wissen, dass eine Picada kein Rindfleisch enthält. Das Schweinefleisch war zäh, trocken und geschmacklos - offensichtlich das billigste Fleisch, das sie bekommen konnten und einfach aufgewärmt, nachdem es lange Zeit eingefroren war. Der männliche Kellner schien alles alleine zu erledigen, obwohl im Erdgeschoss noch zwei Kellnerinnen waren, die nur an der Bar saßen und nichts taten. Die Frau an der Kasse war extrem unfreundlich und verabschiedete sich am Ende nicht einmal. Nun ja, dann werden wir wohl nicht wiederkommen, wenn sie die Gäste so wenig schätzen.

Antes solíamos visitar este restaurante con mi novia y siempre estaba bien, pero la última vez (el 01.04.2024) fue realmente un desastre, desde el servicio hasta la comida. Las empanadas se sirvieron sin ají, y aunque se lo mencionamos al personal, aún tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para que nos lo trajeran. La picada solo llevaba carne de cerdo, a pesar de que en el menú decía que también tenía carne de res. Cuando preguntamos amablemente por qué no había carne de res, el camarero dijo que una picada colombiana no llevaba carne de res y que eso estaba mal en el menú. Luego, le preguntó a mi novia colombiana si no sabía que una picada no llevaba carne de res. La carne de cerdo estaba dura, seca y sin sabor, probablemente la carne más barata que pudieron conseguir y simplemente la recalentaron después de estar congelada por mucho tiempo. El camarero masculino parecía hacerlo todo solo, aunque en la planta baja había dos camareras que solo estaban sentadas en el bar y no hacían nada. Después, la mujer en la caja fue extremadamente grosera y ni siquiera nos despidió al final. Bueno, entonces supongo que no volveremos más, si no quieren retener a...

Terrible service, no drinks menu and half the food menu not available at 8 o clock in the evening. We didn't speak German or Spanish so the waitresses, both old and young, had zero interest in us from the moment we sat down. After waiting for 75mins for food with three other tables occupied in the restaurant we left much to the chagrin of the useless waitresses. I don't expect people to grovel in front of me thanking me that I turned up to their restaurant, but I do expect to be treated like a human being which these excuses for people simply were not interested in doing. And all this after covid-enforced lockdowns where bars and restaurants were most affected. I wouldn't even recommend this place to a rabies-infected dog to come and die. Atrocious would be...
